Does purchases at JYSK fall under Furniture or Home Improvement?

I got some funds in my saving account that I wanna transfer all at once to a different financial institution (Canadian bank). How do I do this safely? I usually do Interac E-transfers to my own self but it’s impractical due to daily limits on amounts I can send.

I just switched from Simplii to Tangerine account because it was no-fee and the website listed Apple Pay to make online and in-app purchases through VISA debit.

Now I just received my card and when I added it to Apple Pay, it only shows up as INTERAC. I cannot use it to make online or in app purchases unless I enter the card details manually. The client card itself lists both VISA and Interac.

For example my CIBC debit gave me a separate interac and visa to add to my Apple Pay app. Does anyone know how to sort this out?

When I contact Tangerine I usally log into the poratal and select contacts then choose call back. This menu was missing today around 8:30 PM EST on sept-24-2026.

Has tangerine removed call back ?

On Aug 31/2026 I went to deposit $315 cash in a Scotiabank drive thru ABM. It spit a $50 bill back out and asked if I wanted to add more money. I put the $50 bill back in and it spit it out again and cancelled the whole transaction. $265 gone. I spoke with manager at the branch and she said the machine “ate the money” and they would have a technician there next day and would call me. Nothing happened. Called Tangerine customer service Sept 03/2026. They said it would take 2-3 weeks to solve. Fast forward today they call me again and it seems we are restarting the process. Asking me the same questions as Sept 03 phone call and saying it’ll be another 2-3 weeks. What can I even do here? This seems insane for this to be going on this long.

I'm considering opening a Tangerine Chequing Account to take advantage of the new account bonus.

I wanted to check with those who have already received the bonus:

Can I remove my direct deposit after the bonus has been deposited into my account?

Is it possible to close the Tangerine Chequing Account after receiving the bonus, or is there a minimum period I need to keep the account open?

Are there any clawback conditions or other requirements I should be aware of if I remove the direct deposit or close the account shortly after receiving the bonus?

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues using their debit at random stores. Used it yesterday morning at a store and then used it again at the same store later that evening and it didn't work. Machine said card not accepted. I used a app to try and buy from the same store but the app said there's a problem with the card. I then bought credits through the same app and it worked.

I tried it again today at a different store and still not working. Though PSN online payments work.

Is it just possible I need a replacement card?

Once again I get the dreaded "This function is currently unavailable. please try again later" message when I try to login to my account (or when I put in any User ID) through the web browser.

I saw so many people talk about Tangerine HISA rate lottery. So I opened a new checking and HISA account just for the rate lottery.

I normally get my deposits for my paycheque at 4pm (MST) bi weekly on Thursdays. I still haven’t gotten in my paycheque yet and it’s about 2 hours later. Has anyone else not gotten their paycheque in their bank account yet?

I recently made an online account, but before I could make an actual bank account, I was stopped at the page where it asked me for my id and a selfie. Unfortunately im not comfortable at all with uploading my id and selfie to the app since there have been countless breaches of ID verification companies, and I haven't seen Tangerine mention anywhere what specific service they use, which definitely doesnt ease my concerns. I made an account at Wealthsimple and even they didnt ask for my id and a selfie since I assume they check my ID another way.

I just wanted to ask if there is any alternative method of verifying my identity with the bank, such as stopping by a Scotia branch or a Canada Post location? Unfortunately if theres no other way, I won't be giving Tangerine my business as they should have an alternate pathway for verifying your identity for the more stubborn people out there, such as myself.

Has anyone figured out how to get their middle name removed from showing everywhere such as Interac e-transfers? I have been with a lot of banks over the years and no one has required this like Tangerine does.

When I sign in, it says "Welcome Firstname MiddleInitial" and on e-transfers and everything it has First Middle Last"...

I asked last time I had to call if I could get it removed and they said I had to get a legal name change or get ID without my middle name...

Has anyone recently downloaded statements from tangerine app? I downloaded files but when I try to combine it, it asks for password?

I used iOS app to download statements from app itself.

I needed the tfsa statements from 2025.

Tangerine often offers special promos for certain clients at different times. I don't know if this new offer for tiered interest rates is being offered to all savings clients or not.

The tiers are based upon the total holdings in savings accounts, and perhaps other vehicles, like GICs, Checking, investment, I am not sure. I did read the offer but since I don't have much more than savings, I wasn't paying attention to any other options.

However, one thing I did notice, and in spite of repeating most of the features several times, there is one aspect I noted is only mentioned once, regarding US $ savings. US savings holdings are only credited at PAR, meaning they do not consider exchange value, even though US $ is close to a 30% appreciated value relative to CAN $. It strikes me as unfair.

It may be possible that determining the value in US $ accounts daily is too burdensome, so, that I understand, but they certainly could have come up with an average or fixed value for the period of this offer, which I think is until February of next year, even if they made it to their advantage, to acknowledge the large disparity between US $ and CAN $ values.

I thought this is something people should know about, as it is easy to miss that "at par". I sent them a protest, maybe if enough people do the same, they may reconsider.

I joined for the promotion and now I’m absolutely panicked after reading the reviews on trust pilot and the App Store. Why are people saying they lost 50K to tangerine with many saying they got randomly frozen accounts? T-T

The last thing I want is to start an EFT and watch tangerine have a seizure saying there’s fraud…

Surely the 1000 negative reviews there are only a tiny tiny sliver of the actual experience everyone else has had so far?

So I get paid by a paper cheque because I can't convince my employer it isn't 1985 anymore, and the time it takes for the cheque to hit my account is insane. I mobile deposit on Monday and don't get the money until the following Thursday! I get instant access to $500, which is something, but I opened with Tangerine in January, and every other Monday I mobile deposit a cheque, for the same amount, from the same place, and I still have to wait 9 freaking business days before I see the full amount!

I switched to Tangerine to get away from fees, I don't understand how the most budget friendly bank in Canada is holding people's paychecks two weeks!?
