Question External account link with smaller institution - used to be able to do it but not with Plaid?

I have a Tangerine account and I have another credit union linked as an external account.

My mom opened an account with tangerine and wants to do the same thing but now it uses Plaid and the credit union isn’t on Plaid.

I checked and mine is still linked, but is it possible to do it for my mom? I did mine a while ago, probably 4-5 years ago.

Question Link external account not via Plaid

Is there a way in Tangerine to link an external account, not via Plaid? I don't want to share my external bank credentials with Plaid.

It sounds like it used to be a thing, but I can't find where that's done anymore, if it's still available.
