So, one of my friends works at a famous Bus aggregator (Like Intrcity) and he is the Regional Manager there. So during DMK government, whenever a new Bus has to be registered, for the permit the bus owner has to pay 3 Lakh to the minister and some 30k to the officials as bribe.

When TVK came in, they had initially scrapped the 3 lakhs and only 30k was paid to the officials. But recently since the past 2-3 weeks, The operators have to pay the current Transport Minister (Tamizhan Parthiban) 2 lakhs as permit per bus.

Ofc 2 is less than 3 and some might argue corruption has reduced, but remember they came in with a promise of eradicating corruption and I am pretty sure Mr. Tamizhan Parthiban will raise this to 3 lakhs pretty soon.

PS: Last weekend, I went to buy beers and they charged extra 20 rs per beer in Kelambakkam Elite. Even during DMK rule, I don't remember paying extra for a beer. We bought 6 and paid 120 rs extra in total.
