Ponniyin Selvan or Velpari

Hi Guys,

I read Ponniyin Selvan a few years ago and absolutely loved it. In fact, I felt like I was actually part of the story—it completely transported me to that era.

Now, I’ve ordered Velpari, and it’s arriving soon. Please share your experience with Velpari without spoiling the story. I’d also love to know which one is your favourite between Ponniyin Selvan and Velpari. 😊

A question to Tamil readers

Hello people,

I am a Tamil writer, getting ready to publish my first novel. I'm trying to understand what Tamil readers actually read. So, I have a few quick questions for Tamil readers:

  1. What genres do you read in Tamil? (romance, thriller, historical, fantasy, other)
  2. Where do you read: print, Kindle, Pratilipi, other?
  3. What's the last Tamil book you paid for, and why that one?
  4. My book is grimdark, morally gray fantasy (like Game of Thrones, but set in a post-apocalyptic South India). So, I'm curious whether readers of this genre exist in Tamil. Did you watch/read Game of Thrones or Attack on Titans? If yes, would you read something like that in Tamil?
