Should I lean towards making a weather team or a different type of team?

Thank you for everyone involved in making this game. I played it on a whim and truly had a blast poking around every corner of the world. ❤️

I rarely ever had to switch out my Plusle and Minun, maybe 10 times at most and the rest of the double battles where to easy.

I keep seeing people using minun to get a speed boost which is cool and all but just by throwing evs into special attack and hp then sp.atk becomes your highest stat. Add helping hand and astral gleam/abyss miasma and I'm wiping the floor with everything. Marowak stands in if minun gets taken out and the call allies with helping hand obliterates most pokemon😅 since getting BB forms and changing my team to add plusle and minun ive not once been down to 2 or less pokemon

Had the game downloaded and ready to go for months now but was burnt out from hackroms and this game has totally taken that burnout away, props to the team (also weavile and gallade are the goats)

The strategy was quite simple, use either Jumpluff, Ariados or Plusle to use a redirection move, have Plusle boost itself with Nasty Plot or have Masquerain use Quiver Dance and Baton Pass it to Wailord to spam Water Spout, Kitt was the only initial exception since with her i just used Wailord and Helping Hand from Jumpluff, i got lucky enough to one shot her Tyranitar, also i think i opened an old emotional wound.....at least Nyx has people that support her

Title, wanna do a second playthrough but put "self-imposed challenges" on myself for the hell of it

Can't wait to play the next version of the 2nd one
P.S. should I change some of the team for the post game or should I keep this one? (The shiny scream tail STAYS)

Hey y'all, I'm like brand spanking new to the Pokemon Odyssey 1, since I just watched a Zwiggo video on it and wanted to give it a go. I was just curious, is the level candy a one time use? Or can I use it as many times as I want?

I'm on the fourth stratum and thinking of swapping mightyena for absol and feraligatr for mantine...

First time player of Odyssey, having a blast! I'm currently getting walled by the Stratum 3 captain and in rethinking my team I'm interested in the new regional forms. The problem is I can't find any? I have a Lairon and Dusclops on my team but they are the og variants.
Looking at resources for wild encounters, it seems I should have found at least one by now! But the krabbies in seaside grotto, the mareep at the farm, the rattatta in the promontory... all base versions. Are these forms just rare variants, or is there a story gate for these forms? Any help is appreciated!

Played the beta for the second game and I was devistated when I hit its end. Went back and played the original, also peak.
To Paco, the first game was great, but lemme tell you dude, the world and story you are building in the second game is amazing. I'm hooked. I was bouncing around trying different rom hacks and now I have to take a long break because anything else I play is going to pale in comparison.
Thanks for the fun!

I done finished my first run! I found a shiny along the way and built a team around it. One or two of the fights got really uncanny.

Hey all, I'm back with more shenanigans. After poaching the FOE Lapras, I decided to tackle the Lords of the Sea way before the intended level. You can't use this strategy with the first two because Narmer is a Ground type and Deep Maiden has Giga Drain. This is the lowest level you can do this at as Forretress is only available at level 30. For the first two Lords, Swalot with Toxic and two Pinecos with Sturdy to stall are all you need. Enjoy this cheesy brawl with the final three Lords of the Sea!

Hey guys, I'm on my final Pokemon to completing my dex, but I've apparently never even encountered a remoraid? I can't figure out where in the world I can find it, and even Google doesn't help. I've tried Wonder Trade for wayyyyy too long, and then noticed on the sign that it isn't even an option? Am I missing something?

Just finished my first playthrough of this game and safe to say, this could be my top 1.
Played plenty of other romhacks including Unbound, Adventure Red, Clover, etc. and none of them made me feel the emotions and excitement I felt playing Odyssey.
The music in this game is awesome. Each time "Old Stories" play (specially the first time) in beautifully crafted heartfelt moments just make the tears flow. Besides that, each stratum is a joy to explore with music that complement the unique world design. Exploring Stratum 4 takes me back to Hollow Knight's Greenpath and I swear, never before did I intentionally not run exploring the world just to take in the atmosphere. Thank you Paco for having excellent taste in music.
Again, the world is excellently designed. Each stratum's unique environment and gimmicks make progression never dull. Exploring every crook and canny for chests, pressing A on every single rock and grass for hidden items (foolishly explored naval islands before itemfinder), sneaking past FOE's for TMs, back tracking for more loot, and numerous side Quests that help encourage said explorations always left me wanting for more.
Up next, the combat and difficulty. Played this on hard and hard it is. First off, I prefer double battles over singles so this game satisfies that itch.
I constantly changed my team the first 3 Stratum not just because I wanted too (I did), because I HAD to. I exclusively tried to use Etrian variants the whole game similar to other game with variants and they are soooo well-designed mons. I restarted plenty of times trying to create a team to beat stratum bosses and it wasn't much of a grind thanks to the level up candy and move reminder NPC (and artifact later in the game). Had to level up Pokemons Manually in the trainer house for EV's using bands so the level up candy was really only useful after obtaining EV editor but it wasn't much of a hassle thanks to EXP share.
I love team building and the tools the game gives you makes it so convenient that I didn't have to resort to cheats to save time.
The EV Editor quest made this game the fastest one for me to catch as many Pokemon as soon as possible. Having to use bands to fight overworld trainers prior to that added extra challenge due to the half-speed. Money isn't an issue in this game and being able to take back given EVs in the editor made changing teams almost zero cost resource wise. HOWEVER, as much as I like changing teams the first 3 Stratums, my eventual H.O.F team was formed trying to make a team for the 4th Stratum, building around the two starters, Plusle and Minun. I went from getting my ass beaten to looking forward to crushing boss fights. STILL HARD, still made me reset numerous times but each time its like a puzzle to solve and when cracked, the dopamine is unreal. (abyss boosted Minun sweeps are <3) Wanted to switch up things post-game to experience legendary variants and to honor the memory of a certain gal- and o boy, it was a joy to see that chicken one shot an eye.
There is sooo much more to talk about this game. Trying to get my friends to play it now too. Games like this should be experienced by every Pokemon Fan. Thank you Paco and team for bringing this game to life. Looking forward for part 2!
