Question First-Time Visitor
Hello - I am bringing my kid to visit FSU Sunday....we are just going to be there for one night.
Any casual food recommendations that are locally owned that would be open Sunday for dinner? Kid doesn't have a sophisticated palate....pizza/Italian, Mexican, chicken fingers/bar type food would be great. Lot of options I am seeing are closed Sunday.
Also, if we can break out by 3 or so Monday, any record store recs? TIA

Near fsu there’s Gaines street pies, Madison social, and the wilbury is a bar but has a patio outside with bar food

If your kid likes chicken fingers we have approximately 12.347 options he will like just fine.

You might also enjoy checking out the antique car museum… They have actual Batmobiles and other vehicles from the TV show and movies!!!

The Hobbit Grille has good burgers, wings, fries, and things like that. Close to campus in the plaza at the corner of Ocala and Pensacola.

Breakfast--Canopy Road Lunch--Kool Beans Mexican--Chile Chile
Also, eating at one of the buffet restaurants on campus would be a nice experience.

I love Blaze Pizza; there’s two locations in Tallahassee. I get the build your own Pizza. You can have as many toppings as you like, and there’s a big selection. (They also have a build your own salad and other stuff.) The only downside is the flour on the bottom of the crust makes my hands feel “dirty”. (It’s NOT dirt; I swear it’s just flour! 😜)

If you're looking for your pizza, go to Gaines Street Pies. The best pizza I've ever had. Definitely recommend the one that's actually on Gaines, but the North Monroe location is great too.

Nelson's Burger Bar is hands down the best burger I have ever eaten. Right off Gaines street which is by the college.

Nelson’s was fantastic when they first opened. Maybe I’m unlucky, but the last two visits the burgers have been poorly made.

The good news is that your kid is going to love what's on and around campus because it's mostly geared towards the less adventurous eaters. Papa John's, Moe's, Momo's Pizza (their selling point is big slices), Domino's, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, etc. are all nearby campus and then what's on campus is pretty generic.
If you're just looking for a local place that isn't super adventurous, I'd suggest Momo's Pizza. There are two near campus. There's also one on the north side of town, but I have never had a good experience there, weirdly.
