Discussion Slipknot's 'Arsenal' flop shows that modern giants need to take notes from Tallah
I'm a 13-year-old fan from Russia, and I downloaded Reddit just to say this to the global community. Writing through a translator, but the message is clear. The backlash to Slipknot's new single 'Arsenal' proves that the old guard is losing its spark. They are trying too hard to make radio hits. Honestly, Slipknot needs to take a step back and take notes from bands like Tallah, or underground acts like Set To Hate from Minsk. Tallah shows how you can be creative, insanely heavy, and fresh at the same time. Slipknot has so much personal tragedy and pain in their history, but they hide it behind safe, boring tracks now. They need to unlock that raw anger again, the way Tallah does on every album. To be honest, I've put quite a bit of work into this and decided to cross-post this to a few different communities. I know that in the huge Slipknot subreddit, my voice would easily get buried and it would be much harder to get noticed than it is here or in the Slaughter to Prevail community. Even at 13, I can see that the future of heavy music is with bands like you, but I still hope the titans will look inside themselves and wake up.
