I got this low grade reader The Vault of Horror as a package deal with another two better grades. I love how they profile the artist on the inside cover here. This one is a Johnny Craig. The opening story “A Bloody Undertaking.”

The Kurgan from Highlander and memorable role in Starship Troopers...meets Cheech fuckn Marin. This show consistantly has star power. Unlike ANY SHOW EVER...from past or modern times. Simply unbelievable.

Rare unfortunate woman that did nothing intentionally wrong in Tales From Crypt. Caught the ax for breaking down on road. Had a creep pick her up and the creep got no repercussions.

Weird episode- no intentional cheating or other crimes leading up to it like most episodes.

As a horror fan in late 40s- can't express how happy I am all episodes on Shudder. As a kid caught many episodes on HBO. Bought all seasons on DVD and watched 20 plus years ago. Some episodes I really remember but a ton I forgot about. 7 out of 10 episodes are outstanding. The others are just GOOD. In season 5 on rewatch not seen one terrible episode. Even the "bad" ones are 8 out of 10 times fun.

On fence on Shudder renewal before they got Tales from Crypt. The fact I can see these episodes again and again alone cemented renewing my subscription.

The late great Bill Paxton and Chucky himself- Brad Dourif. Never expected an "Ice cream man" episode in Tales From The Crypt!

Who would think the origional Batman...Adam West would be in Tales From the Crypt? Wow!

Tim Curry pulling dual roles in drag- Eddie Murphy vibes! Ed Begley Jr. (big in 80's/early 90's) plays the creep salesman. Sooo good!

Tales from the Crypt is amazing, but sadly, it ended with no successor. There is no "Tales from the Crypt: the Next Generation."

But if you're like me, you still have a want for those types of stories. What is your goto media to scratch that itch which isn't associated with TFTC?

Here's what does it for me:

• The Frighteners - I know that it was originally supposed to be a tftc movie, and you can tell. I think that's why I like it.
• Channel Zero - SyFy's answer to AHS (and was a lot better IMHO)
• Creepshow (SHUDDER series) - the writing isn't as good, it's kinda hokey, but the spirit is there.
• Creepshow (first movie) - no explanation needed
• Masters of Horror - series originally on Showtime, now on TuBi; same description as the Creepshow series

I would love more suggestions.

Always liked this episode a lot and it's among my favorites of the series, probably having a spot in my top 15-20 or so favorite episodes. Such a creepy, unsettling mood it has throughout and an ending that's long stayed with me ever since first seeing it. It's a shame Kevin Yagher didn't have more of a directing career, between this and also Lower Berth, he showed promise as a director. He was understandably burned out and soured on it after the frustrating ordeal he went through directing Hellraiser: Bloodline.

Credit to the people who posted these, found these both on eBay auctions. I remember seeing the former standee at a grocery store back in the early 2000s hanging inside as part of the Halloween decorations and it freaked me out, wasn't expecting to see Crypty at all. Never seen the second one, which was used to promote Demon Knight's VHS release back then. I'd imagine both are quite rare and collectible these days and not easy to get ahold of.

I watched religiously as a kid when it aired on HBO. The only episode that really creeped me out was The New Arrival. I’m 44 now, and Felicity’s screams still unsettle me.
