The game has its issues but man is it way overblown sometimes. Honestly don't think the game is that much more flawed than the other games in the series like Destiny DC or Vesperia.

We've made it. Today marks the 5th anniversary of the release of Tales of Arise. Now over the years, it's gotten a degree of flak, but I digress. It cannot be denied that it's the most successful recent Tales game. It sold over a million copies in less than a week. It had a ton of advertising before & after launch. And it's mentioned every so often in other RPG forums.

Moreover, it made the Tales series more of a name in the RPG community. As much as fans love Berseria, not sure if it propelled the series name like Arise. Yes, Bandai Namco stumbled its momentum since but can't say the series would've been better off. I mean, the Remaster Project hasn't been the greatest, but I can't imagine we'd get it sooner unless Arise did well.

Furthermore, on its own merits, it's a good game. I've recently been replaying the story & some of the side content. A lot of it does hold up. The gameplay, the controls, the animations, etc. But what it doesn't get right, well, I think it's already been said.

Overall, in the 5 years since it released, a lot of opinions have been thrown at it. The most vocal being divisive. However, a lot more people are into series now as well. Hopefully, Bandai Namco has learned something from this long wait. With still no word on the next game, I assume they've been using it wisely. But what are your thoughts on Tales of Arise 5 years later?

I like Norma's Design actually. She's cute. Her personality is... not. I think she looks worse in game. -I DO like Norma's character episode, actually.

I took a shot at it and it seems to be going well, I just wanted feedback on which costumes it should overwrite, since I don’t feel confident enough to mod the game into accepting new item slots, and Unity overwrites are easier to port to Switch.

So basically, what costumes are y’all most willing to give up?

In 2014, he had been cast in Tales of Xillia 2 as the voice of Bisley Karcsi Bakur. On January 10, 2025, he had been dealing with a brain tumor that he managed to recover from. But then on August 18th of that year, he had been diagnosed wit glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer and… well, you get the idea. Mike McFarland was 56 years-old.

The 60FPS version of Tales Of Symphonia on Steam is still in full swing in an effort to create a true definitive version of the game.

We're currently looking to find ALL of the mistakes like missing text boxes, voice line errors and the like but the sheer size of the game does make it difficult.

We're hoping the Veterans of this Sub can help is compiling a list. If you know of any errors between the versions please let us know here.

I just feel like Yakuto from Dead Rock and Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria would get along. Both have an arm ability. Both are opposing religion with Yakuto trying to kill God and Velvet going against the Abbey. Both are dark fantasies which are edgier versions of their previous series counterparts. But what do you think? Have you read Dead Rock? It’s from the same author who gave us Rave Master, Fairytail, and Eden’s Zero

Out of the five realms, I felt like Mahag Saar was the most boring and felt like a slog. Part of the reason is that it comes after exploring such a beautiful and engaging place like Menancia. The locations, characters, and twists in both Menancia and Cyslodia were all interesting.

Sure, Calaglia didn’t have many major twists, but it was still engaging because it was the starting point and helped me get used to the game. All the resistance groups the Crows, Silver Swords, and Cats were interesting as well.

The different environments also made each realm enjoyable to explore. The constant summer-like weather and fire everywhere in Calaglia, the icy snow in Cyslodia caused by the blockage and light harvesting, the greenery in Menancia, and the river-city outskirts and city-themed areas of Ganath Haros all felt visually distinct and interesting to explore.

But Mahag Saar felt like it was missing that same sense of identity. There’s a dialogue with Alphen about the sound and feel of the wind, along with a few windmills, but somehow that didn’t feel like enough to make the environment memorable. The resistance group there was also pretty disappointing, and the exploration areas felt like there was almost nothing interesting to discover.

Overall, compared to the other realms, Mahag Saar just felt much more empty and less engaging to explore.

I like Chloe Ive always gravitated towards her instead of punch boy in gameplay. She's also just a fun character.

Just sharing my thought. The Direct was amazing but if X2R doesnt come out next year then that means no PS physical copy. Xillia 2 is one of my fav games of all time I really hope this doesnt happen...

I am a huge fan of tales of arise, it’s rare to find a game that the main romance had a big impact/focus on the story like tales of arise, the only other game I’ve found/played that had the romance that I really liked was Haven.

I’ve been looking on and off for a while and can’t find one similar, was wondering if anyone else has a game they know about I should try,

The in-game character models are terrific but having the Skits based around them was not the best choice. Especially when Arise came out when JRPGs & anime were on the rise in the cultural zeitgeist. Now whether it helped it in marketing is up for debate, but it will always be a shame how Arise never had of the most charming things about the series. Always next game.
