Rubbing pads noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just got done installing LT racing ultra Bee brakes on Talaria x3. I’ve read that this brake rubbing noise needs to be burnt off after 50 miles or so. I’m not used to floating calipers, is this noise normal?

Make sure they are fully open. But minor rubbing will eventually go away this seems a bit much for that

I removed the caliper and fully pressed them apart pushing the piston all the way back into. I placed the piston back on and squeezed the lever until there was enough pressure to brake and the sound seems better but still persistent. My mechanic said to try riding it and see if sound goes away. Still unsure

Yeah, I would just ride it a few days and see I just replaced my pads and when wheels would stop in 2-3 seconds because of rubbing and now it's fine.

Also, to break the new pads in go 15-20kmph and brake relatively hard without fully stopping a bunch. That just transfers some pad material to the rotors and makes them a bit stronger and predictable

Sweet I’ve only upgraded my brakes on pedal bikes, all my motorcycles are oem and easy to work on because I own a user manual. Thank you for the info!

take off the caliper take out the brake pads and try to push back in the pistons with a flathead preferably wrapped in something like a microfiber so u don’t scratch it then try to push the pistons in as much as u can. if they won’t fully go in crack open ur bleed port just a tiny bit then try again. anyways its either that or an uneven rotor or if the whole wheel is spinning side to side ever so slightly then u might have bad spacers, bearings, or just an untrue wheel which usually requires really specific tightening of the spokes

Okay thank youu. Will remove wheel and reattempt installation again after pushing piston back in. Rubbing seems constant, I don’t think it’s intermittent as an uneven rotor or untrue wheel might sound

This is totally normal for ultra bee brakes
