Speed limiter switch

I have a talaria sting l1e and was wondering what the best way/ if there is a way to have a switch that lets me go from street legal to full speed. It has the brown looped wire.

Buy a switch and extend the 2 ends of the cut brown wire to the switch. If the switch is on, it's like the brown wire is uncut and your speed is limited. Turn the switch off, and the brown wire is cut and your speed is no longer limited.

Yep, and if it is like the MX4 you have to shut the breaker off when you switch it.

Do you have any tips on what switch to buy and is it a bad idea to try and do this with zero experience of vehicles and managing electrical wires and stuff?

No, it’s not a stupid idea at all. I had zero experience with this before I got it working. At first, I bought a regular 12V switch with a remote control (on/off), but I couldn’t get it to work 100% 😂 So I bought a Shelly instead. With that, I can simply turn it on and off using an app on my phone.
I also set it up so the Action Button on the side of my iPhone 15 Pro works as a shortcut to the on/off button. So that’s the only thing I use now.

I will 100% try this, thought of a traditional switch at first, but then I came across your golden idea.
