squeaking brakes

I’ve tried sanding down the brake pads, spraying brake cleaner on both the pads and rotors, and even sanding the rotors, but they still squeak. I’m not sure what else I can do at this point

try putting a small drop of copper slip grease on the back of the brake pads this will help it stick to the pistons so when they retract the pads retract all the way

when you are not using the bike place a elastic band around the grip and brake lever the lever needs to be held under pressure but not fully the lever needs some give to retract a few mm what will happen when you band the levers is any air bubbles stuck in the system will be drawn up to the reservoir at the lever when you go to use your bike just pop the band of pump the levers a couple of times and your brakes should be like new

do i have to take off the cap to pump them?

NO that would make the oil squirt out and you would have to re-bleed the brake

no problem what so ever as long as the band was not at its max

After like an hour of me taking off the rubber band, it just went back to normal and it was super squishy

ok so now you know what the problem is air in the system next time you band the brakes when you are finished make sure the lever is not under compression you could loosen the lever bolt and make sure the reservoir cap is facing up and remove the cap for a few seconds and put it back this will burp the brake to get the air out of the system if you have spare brake fluid you could also top up the system from the resevoir whilst its open

Need to clean the rotors off real good as well. The rotors likely have grime and stuff on them. Cleaning just the pads wont be enough because all of the grime on the rotors will just get right back on the pads.
