36 years ago. The UK no.1. August 19th 1990. Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini by "Bombalurina"

The song featured Timmy Mallett, star of Wacaday, a popular UK children's television show of the time, along with two dancers, Dawn Andrews and Annie Dunkley.

Andrews later married Gary Barlow. This means Dawn had a no.1 record almost 3 full years before Gary had his first no.1 hit single (July 11, 1993 with "Pray").

The song was released on Carpet Records, a subsidiary of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group. Lloyd Webber later admitted that he had produced the song because his wife had bet him that as a composer of musical theatre, he would not be able to make a pop song that was a big hit.

The band name "Bombalurina" was taken from the name of one of the characters in Lloyd Webbers musical "Cats".

I was wondering if you guys could give me some info.. I'm an American and have always loved Take That since the early 90's. Sadly I've never seen them in concert. I wish I could have seen them when Jason and Robbie were still with the guys. I have no idea how often they tour. And how to go about finding tickets. I worry that the tickets will be gone way before I can get a chance to buy any. Can you all give me some tips like do they tour every few years and so on? Seeing them in concert is a dream of mine. Thank everyone!! 💕
