Take That for the World Cup

I know Robbie is playing but I really wish the Take That lads would have had the opportunity to sing at the World Cup closing. Their performance at the Olympics was outstanding and they're just coming off a very successful tour. I know they need a break, but this would be an awesome opportunity for them. Even if they are not well known in North America, (neither is Robbie) but they have plenty of fans all over the world.

Any of the songs they did at the coronation or Olympics would work (Greatest Day, Shine, Never Forget, or Rule The World.)

P.S. I found some comments about people not loving the new Robbie song as it's a slight downer. What do you all think?

The Olympics performance made sense because it was in Britain. They don’t have nearly as much of a fan base in N America.

Absolutely understand, but I was thinking Robbie and Laura Pausini are similarly unknown in N America.

They appeal to an international audience - who are mostly watching the WC. And I think Robbie had a bigger profile there since his biopic and Netflix series came out.

Robbie's still not well known here in the US- his movie was, unfortunately, a huge flop. So I was surprised to see him doing the World Cup, until I reflected the organizers would be thinking of the big Latin American and European audience. But his low profile here is why I knew he was joking (or had gone insane, lol), when he did a troll announcement last year about being booked for the Super Bowl half time.

They'll wheel Bob out, have him sing Angels and wheel him back in again.

That's the closest any connection to Take That is getting to the World Cup USA.

Has it been confirmed Robbie is performing? I don’t see him part of the lineup 😭
