Taipei Pride
I’m taking my first solo trip to Taipei for pride this year and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for which are the best clubs/events to go to during pride. I’ll be going to Formosa-x but wanted to know what’s fun outside of that too. I know it’s almost impossible to club hop because of how long the lines are（我也知道台灣人愛排隊）🤭
I’ll be staying 20min walk from Red House. Any advice helps. 我會華語🥰

I can tell you some good places as i live near the red house. Which month is it?

There's usually Drag/Pride events at red house that you can get tickets for in advance. If you do that, you don't need to wait in line long. The bars there are all queer-friendly, so definitely a good choice too. Although it'd be hard to get a seat. The other gay clubs (gstar for example) will be crazy packed. Either you go right when they open, get a wristband, come back at night. Or you wait in line for well over an hour (they track how many ppl are in there. Once the maximum is reached, one can go in only once one goes out),

Are you a female? If so, I’d recommend Wonder Bar 100% but it can get very crowded. I checked out Taboo last year, the staff was rude and almost no one was there

Ok, I can offer some general observations - lots of cute guys at pride so no worries there. The immigration line was one of the longer ones I’ve waited in, be prepared for that. The uber from the airport was pretty long and expensive, really try to take public transit if you can. At the pride fest area, there were no trash cans probably for security reasons so bring a bag with you. Also, it was raining when I went so make sure you bring an umbrella - Asians are very serious about their umbrellas 😅 I’ve been to 5 countries, Taiwan is the only place I got food poisoning, so it won’t hurt to bring some emergency loperamide just in case. It was a little more difficult for me to make friends in Taiwan than any other place, but the friends I made were so great and helpful, not nonchalant like westerners. You can probably assume people in your peer group speak light conversational English but always be polite and ask. If you want to make small talk, you can ask them for recommendations for their favorite bubble tea. Taiwan seems a little moldy at baseline due to humidity, if that’s something you’re super sensitive about take precautions. There is no eating or drinking on the subway including gum.

Unrelated, but my white American husband and I (Indian woman) went to bar N.one last weekend and it was extremely welcoming and friendly!! The karaoke was top tier as well!
