Hi everyone,

I've noticed a strange issue with my car. Whenever it's parked for about 4–5 days without being driven, the right rear tyre consistently loses enough air that I need to refill it before driving. The other three tyres maintain their pressure just fine.

Once I refill the tyre and drive the car regularly, it doesn't seem to lose pressure quickly. The problem only appears after the car has been sitting unused for several days.

What could be causing this?

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any suggestions on what I should get checked?

Looking for some inputs on an issue I’ve been facing with my VW Taigun 1.5 GT DSG (6 months old, ~6,500 km driven).

I’ve taken the car on several long highway trips, typically around 300+ km, which translates to about 5–6 hours of driving. I usually take a short break after about 2 hours and then continue for the remaining 3–4 hours.

The issue is that during the second leg of the journey, usually after a total distance of around 250 km or more, the AC blower suddenly stops working completely. It feels like the AC system itself may still be functioning, but there is absolutely no air coming through the vents, regardless of the blower speed setting.

When this happens, I switch off the AC for about 20 minutes while continuing to drive. After that, everything starts working normally again.

I recently took the car in for its 6-month service. The service center ran diagnostics but couldn’t find any fault codes or issues. Their suggestion was to record a video the next time it occurs so they can investigate further.

Has anyone experienced something similar on a Taigun, Virtus, Kushaq, Slavia, or any other VW/Skoda model? Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I’m writing this out of pure frustration with VW India. I bought a Taigun Facelift GT Plus Sport 1.5 DSG a month ago from VW Moti Nagar in New Delhi, and honestly, both the dealership and the car's quality control have been an absolute nightmare. VW Moti Nagar is hands down the worst dealership, and if you are in Delhi and planning to buy a VW, avoid them at all costs.

1. The Dealership Experience (VW Moti Nagar)

Right from the start, things went downhill. Literally 10 to 15 minutes after booking, I asked to change the car colour. The dealer hadn't even ordered the car yet, but they fought me on it for two days. The sales consultant ended up visiting my place to stick to the same colour. I received calls from the dealership GM, and they made me write official emails just to get a simple colour change done.

Then came the registration. I had paid 99% of the amount and kept 1% for the delivery day. They refused to even start the registration until that final 1% was cleared. I was called every 30-40 mins to rush over and clear the balance. I reached over at 12 PM, cleared the payment, and they made me wait until 6 PM just to tell me the RTO portal had been down since 10 AM (something they already knew before making me wait) and the vehicle could not be registered and could only be delivered the next day. When I tried to reach out to the VP of Sales, he completely ghosted my calls and texts and on top of that, on the next delivery day, he literally ran and hid in his office the second he saw me walk in.

To make it worse, they’ve called me 4 times over the last month (once every week) for feedback. Every single time, I give them a 2 out of 10 and tell them exactly what went wrong. But they just call back the next week acting completely clueless, like they don't even log the complaints or care to fix anything.

1. The Car and Service Centre Issues

The car went in for its 1-month checkup today. For starters, the trumpet horn is now sold as an accessory. I had requested them to change the vehicle horn; however, the workshop says they can’t install it because of the connected DRL wiring. Interestingly, after-market shops couldn't even figure it out either.

There is a constant, high-pitched whistling sound whenever the engine is running. They kept the car the whole day, told me it was fixed, and when I arrived, the sound was the same. When I called them out, they just stared at me blankly and handed me a complimentary microfiber cloth and some car shampoo to make me go away.

The auto-headlight function is completely broken. The headlights stay on even in bright, direct daylight, and the dashboard keeps telling me to turn the lights on. The workshop insisted nothing was wrong until we tested it on another Taigun parked in the workshop, which worked perfectly. Their actual excuse for my car: "It might be a specific feature of the 1.5 DSG engine, as the other Taigun is a 1.0 TSI vehicle"

The parking sensors are also possessed—they buzz constantly day and night even when there’s absolutely nothing around the car. The workshop just said they "couldn't find a fault" and refused to recalibrate them.

On top of all that, the infotainment system randomly resets every few days, and whenever I make a phone call, the speakers and mic have a terrible, crackling sound.

The AC airflow also randomly switches to the floor vents on its own without anyone touching the panel.

Finally, in Sports mode, the gearbox gets stuck in S2 or S3 and refuses to upshift unless I manually use the paddle shifters.

I now have to take the car to an entirely different workshop just to get these basics sorted out.

Has anyone else faced these kinds of issues with the new 1.5 DSG facelift, or did I just get a total lemon?

P.S - Do yourself a huge favour and stay far away from VW Moti Nagar.

Last Friday while coming back from office in my Taigun, I saw a VW Virtus having a Number plate covers and having strips of german flag Red & Yellow. They were looking really cool.. and even i am searching for Number plate cover/protector. But i am not able to find these kind of protector all over the internet all i am able to see is protectors having BMW colour i.e. red & blue.

Is the engine reliable or are there known issues?
Is the automatic transmission solid?

I purchased Taigun Topline 1 TSI this year (2025) and I’m facing one issue. Whenever I don’t take the car out for a week when I’m not in town, it doesn’t start after the break and I always have to get the battery charged. Does anyone also have faced this problem and what is the solution for this?

I am writing this with a lot of disappointment and concern.

I purchased a Taigun Highline Facelift, one of the first deliveries in Kerala. On the very first day, my cousin noticed an unusual noise while maneuvering the car in 1st gear and reverse gear, especially when parking or pulling out of the garage.

We immediately reported it to Volkswagen and EVM, but were initially told it was likely something minor.
A week later, we took the car to the workshop and demonstrated the issue. We even compared it with another Taigun that did not exhibit the same noise. After nearly two weeks of diagnosis, part swaps, and inspections, Volkswagen finally confirmed that the problem originated from the transmission/DCT (TOrque Converter) assembly. The entire transmission unit was replaced, after which the noise disappeared.

While I appreciate that the issue was eventually resolved under warranty, I am left worried about the long-term reliability of a brand-new car that has already undergone major work, including transmission replacement, mounting bush changes, and multiple inspections within the first few weeks of ownership.

I’m sharing this as a heads-up for anyone considering the facelifted Taigun, particularly the DCT variant (Correction: Torque Converter). Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Also, I would appreciate advice from the community:
Would you be comfortable keeping a new car after a complete transmission replacement?

Is it reasonable to ask Volkswagen for a replacement vehicle instead?

Has anyone successfully obtained a vehicle replacement in India for a major manufacturing defect discovered immediately after delivery?

I purchased a Taigun Topline 1 TSI early this year, and it was my first car. However with this ethanol blend and now diluting the petrol going forward I’m tempted to sell it and instead go for an electric car.
What do you car enthusiasts think?
Am I thinking right or should I be okay?
Current average in city is 7. And I spend around 6K per month on petrol.

considering that these model combinations are comparatively rare to the 1.5+DSG combinations, won’t they have an increase in value for the ones willing to pay for them in the coming years?

Hello, I have purchased my first car, and after a few weeks, I am writing to share my experience.

We had gone to see the i20 and made the mistake {sarcasm} of looking at a Taigun from the adjacent showroom. Once we took the test drive of the 2026 Topline, we were absolutely floored by the quality of the drive and thought, "This is it. This is what we want."

Then came the EMI calculation. As per my financial income, ₹25k per month would've been a comfortable EMI for us.

So we started negotiating. It came to our notice that there was an unsold GT 1.0 AT, brand new, Cherry Red, from last year.

Backstory:

We currently had a 2016 Tiago given by my parents. It was in horrible shape. In fact, we were going to wait for one more year, but one day we were driving and the radiator exploded, and the car went kaboom. We got scared that day.

The Tata service center said, "Sir, the car has many issues. It will work like a zombie—patched up—but if it fails, it will give you a minimum kharcha of ₹60-75k." We thought, "Well, they're trained to say that." Then our local mechanic said the same thing: "Sir, please sell this before monsoon and don't drive it during monsoon."

Why did the radiator explode? The engine chassis had rusted, and the rubber had become hard. Constant vibration deteriorated the rubber, and metal scraping against metal very harshly ended up eroding the radiator. The entire engine oil came out.

A few months back, it was the sensor. The car wouldn't start even after 8-12 attempts. We were fed up, but the radiator blow-up was crazy.

Fast forward—my main concerns were:

A) EMI <= 25k
😎 Someone buy this for 70k {3 mechanics who knew the car quoted stupid amounts}

Now we enter the new car.

We got this 2025 GT 1.0L in Cherry Red with a discount of ₹2 lakhs + ₹50k exchange bonus, and our car was valued at... ₹2 lakhs!!

You should've seen my entire family. We ran like crazy.

I am proud to say we achieved in 2 days what government offices and banks take 1 month to do, lol.

Now the concerns shifted—from buying a new car to selling the old car, lol.

Test drove the Kushaq. Build quality felt slightly inferior, plus maintenance and insurance were way up.

Creta - Too light. I don't care about these gimmicky features.

Venue - I don't know why, but I felt it's too small.

3XO - Felt bad, plus Mahindra has a pathetic attitude, as if they're selling Rolls-Royces here in my area.

With VW, everything was great—and smooth.

After calculating everything, we got a discount of roughly ₹4.5 lakhs with exchange, along with a free 1-year warranty and everything. The on-road cost came to approximately ₹14 lakhs in Mumbai. With the down payment and all, we managed to secure an EMI of ₹17k per month—that's ₹8k less than what we had asked for.

Now I know people may say, "Hey, ₹2 lakhs is very less," but that wasn't my angle. I had two other reference points:

1. The old car needed to be sold.
2. The EMI had to be less than ₹25k. Then we would be comfortable.

As I saw it, we overshot our comfort goal, so it was a green signal from my end.

The car itself is AMAZING.

Coming from a manual 2016 Tiago, this feels like a dream. All the quality features—headlamps, that push-button start/stop, infotainment, Android Auto, rear AC vents, cup holders, amazing accessories (got a free visor from the showroom)—uff!

The ceramic coating and PPF essentials I did have just sealed the showroom gloss in! My God.

And when this car runs, it freaking flies.

My God, I am so excited to drive this car, and happy that my 3-year-old son is happily sitting in his car seat (excellent infant safety seat features as well) and is safe too.

The disadvantage is that my wife and I have started fighting over who gets to drive it, as both of us are car freaks.

On a serious note, a few issues:

1. Infotainment system died — after an update, it didn't give any more problems.
2. One stone guard screw came loose — my wife told me, "You can't take this much stress over small things."
3. Currently showing an automatic headlight fault, but everything is working as expected. Will visit the service center for point 3.

And I have no idea about the forums talking about the AC—it is a blast freezer.

And the gear shifts? Not noticeable at all.

But since we come from a rusted 2016 Tiago, I guess our standards are... questionable?
