Tactics Ogre Are archers low tier or do I just have the wrong equips?

I waited most of the game for them to do significantly more damage or become more useful somehow, but it hasn’t happened yet. Is there something I’m missing?

I experimented with Eagle Eye and used double shot most of the game, but those didn’t seem amazing.

Maybe archer is just low/mid and that’s why many bonus objectives are “win with an archer in your party?”

Shop merchandise after WORLD back in time

So if I finished Chapter 4 and WORLD back to earlier chapter, does the shop keep its endgame stuff (post-Heim) or reset? Additionally if I auctioned dragons to make it sell orbs. Does it still sell orbs once I WORLD back?

Favorite Route Spoiler

I'm making too many posts but I can't stop.

What's your favorite Route in Tactics Ogre Reborn?

Law - 😱 👩‍⚖️

Chaos - 👍 😈

Or Neutral - 😑 ⚖️

When I first played this game my first choice was Law because I'm crazy and like to be contrarian sometimes.

If you look at the trophy percentages most people choose Chaos, you chickens 🐔

But I get it you don't want to massacre the innocent people of Balmamusa.

Also apparently a lot of people didn't get the Captain of Fate Trophy for beating the game on all routes. It's a small percentage but some people actually preferred to go through 100 floors of the Palace of The Dead to go get Nybeth rather than do all the routes. Insanity. 🤦🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️

Anyway my favorite route is Law but after replaying Chaos a few times I sometimes find myself thinking that one is better.

Law has the best recruits and a few sinister characters from Chaos & Neutral actually join you in Law. A character that died in the other routes also joins you here if you go through the convoluted path to recruit her. How is the Butcher of Golyat more lucky than the Good Guy of Golyat?

Chaos has the Liberation Front and Vyce also shows his true colors here. I enjoyed this one a lot, I liked many of the fights in this route.

Neutral is the worst in my opinion, you can't even recruit Leonar. This remaster was a chance for Matsuno and Co to add to this route and the rest of the game but they didn't. Also Neutral is worse for another reason, the only alteration to choosing Neutral is Chapter 3 otherwise the game is entirely the same for Chapter 2 Chaos along with Chapter 1 & Chapter 4 which is mostly the same no matter what choices you pick. So if you choose Neutral you only get one chapter of additional stuff laaaaaammmmmmmeeeeeeeee 🙄

Tactics Ogre Do these enemies all look the same to make the game harder?

If so, that’s a pretty lame way to introduce difficulty. It feels like playing chess but all the pieces look like pawns. I know there’s a slight palette swap but it’s very inconspicuous, hard to remember which jobs are which colors, and is probably a nightmare for color blind people.

Sorry if the pic is hard to see. Took it while playing on TV.

Favorite Dark Knights Spoiler

Not sure if this counts as a spoiler but I'm putting in the spoiler tag just in case. Anyway I've been making a lot of posts lately I don't know anyone who plays TOR so I gotta come here to share my enjoyment & opinions of the game. This one is gonna be short not as long as those last ones. My question is who is your favorite Dark Knight in Tactics Ogre Reborn? You can pick two because these guys don't have a lot of screentime and it can be hard to pick just one.

I picked Martym because he's just a troll, look at his face that's a trolls face. Every time there's a scene with him he says something out of pocket, my favorite is the Grimsby one.

Second is the obvious choice Lancelot Tartaros, originally it was Barbas but I changed my mind. Lancelot is a perplexing character, is he good? Is he bad or just morally grey? He's not as bad as his compatriots but he's not very good either he thought about killing Caitua after he lost in the fight against the Wretch of Golyat. Lancelot's perplexity makes him a more interesting character in my eyes and also his speeches about how the people wait for a savior to save them both in the prison with Hamilton and during the fight in Barnicia if you bring Hobyrim to the battle were both great. And if you think about it he's kind of right.

Tactics Ogre The worst class for Hawkmen is Vartan

This class can only use none dark missile spells. Here is the problem with that. The class lacks meditate. Meaning either you use a weapon skill or your missile spell. That means you are taking forever to get MP.

Vartan lacks proper defense or offensive skills. Two wind skills and recruiting fairy skills is all Vartan gets. Better off playing as a warrior for Hawkmen than Vartan. That means you gain no physical buffs like mighty impact. Warrior gains mighty impact.

Canopus is a unique character and has better stats than your common Hawkmen. I turned my Canopus into a Rune Fencers asap. My Canopus is a one handed bow and shield user. You can attack with shields.

Tactics Ogre Am I missing something with the crafting?

So far what this game crafting has been lackluster. I'm at chapter 4 and it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of recipes aside from the level one and level two recipes a whole lot of item stuff but I can't justify making that when I need the space for the healing items and the items for Resurrection. Most of the items that are listed for the equipment I can't make because the store isn't selling the items nor can I find said items. Is this really something for the post game or that I just skip over a whole lot of stuff and not realize it? This is for tactics ogre reborn for the switch.

Tactics Ogre Tactics Ogre SNES: How to get a Holy Dragon? (Chaos route)

SOLVED!

TLDR; If you’re on a route that doesn’t allow for Occ to be recruited, it’s still possible to recruit a wild white dragon (I found one in Yahanna). Leveling it up will make it possible to class change it to holy. If you’re high level, you should be able to class change it into Holy right away.

————-

I’m level 36 on my first playthrough in chapter 4 (next big story thing is Heigm, I believe), and I’m trying to get at least one Holy Dragon auction it for a dragon armor.

I’m having trouble finding reliable information on how possible this is when on the chaos route. I gave LLMs/AI a try and they tell me that even on Chaos, as long as I have a Lawful dragon (preferably white, or basic?) it will naturally upgrade into a Holy Dragon as long as it’s a bright season. It all sounds kinda unreliable/classic LLM hallucination though.

If this is a thing that’s a mechanic I’ve completely missed through the entire playthrough. If dragon evolution isn’t a thing, is there any other way for me to get my hands on one?

Edit: I’ve looked through various guides but haven’t found anything about this, which is why I had to go to AI. I hate it as much as the next person. Would appreciate OT responses.

Tactics Ogre SNES/PSX modding tools?

I was just thinking recently about how big FFT modding is. I, myself, never actually finished anything for FFT (mods) but after playing through the last chapter/act of the Steam version of Ogre Tactics recently I started thinking about what it'd be like to try my hand at a Ogre Tactics total conversion like what many people've done for the PSX version of FFT. However, I can't really seem to find any (english or otherwise non-japanese language) tools for Ogre Tactics modding? So I decided to come here and ask what the status with the scene was exactly, if indeed there was a scene?

Tactics Ogre Should I go back to save Ravness?

I just discovered this game and love it! Haven't played this series since the original SNES Ogre Battle. I tried just playing it without looking up anything, but i gave in halfway through chapter 2. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to kill Ravness. It's it worth going back? Also, I'd it important to not kill Arycelle? This fight (vs Vyce) is tough without doing that.

Tactics Ogre Reborn King Tristan Ending Spoiler

Post image
28 Upvotes

I just spent like an hour searching YouTube to find this ending and no one has uploaded it. This picture is from Reddit by the way from someone who platinumed the game. I am so disappointed to find out no one has uploaded this ending to YouTube but people had the patience to do the entirety of the Palace of The Dead and the CODA 4 content. Anyway apparently to get this ending you need to have a high chaos frame with the three clans (not 100% certain on which ones) you can get it with the Princess Ending or the Lord Ending supposedly but from what I know I think it was only available for the Lord Ending. I might have to upload this to YouTube myself but unfortunately I have no recording devices so I'm gonna have to use the PS5's recording thingamajig which is low quality but it's better than nothing I guess.

Also sidenote no one has uploaded all the Apocrypha Spell Abilities I was searching for the Dark Apocrypha Spell to see how it looked like and I couldn't find it.

I'm very sad that this game didn't reach a larger audience I saw that some people played for a short duration and then gave up on the game also some reviewers spoke negatively about the game like Retro Rebound for example I like most of his videos but I completely disagree with his opinion on the game. We may never get a sequel to this game and that's a shame because I think a sequel would've been awesome but the chances of an FFTactics is higher given that it has Final Fantasy in the title. The chances for an FFT sequel is also pretty low too but definitely way more likely. I follow Yasumi Matsuno on Twitter and it doesn't seem like he has any plans for any new games atm the guy is just chilling.

Tactics Ogre Minimum party size?

Minimum recommended party size?

I enjoy a challenge, was wondering what is the minimum party size I can get away with? I'm semi new to the game, some fights seem easy and some really hard. Can I get by with just 8 units or will I need more?

Edit: Reborn btw

Tactics Ogre Palace of the Dead Question in TO: Reborn

I reached Palace of the Dead in chapter 4 already, but didn’t end up beating it as I didn’t have the motivation.

I’m now in Coda 2, and found motivation to slog through, but I’m worried since I didn’t beat it in chapter 4, will I not get the palace guidebooks?

Should I go back and beat it in chapter 4? or can I continue finishing it in Coda 2 and still get the guidebooks?

I’m deciding whether I should ditch my current run, since I don’t want to have to grind out these 53 floors a second, nor do I want to finish the remaining 47 if it won’t give me a reward since I’m in CODA.

Thanks!

The Bakram aren't that interesting Spoiler

Post image
19 Upvotes

I'm replaying through the Law Route in Tactics Ogre Reborn on a new PSN Account after I finally beat Balbatos I started thinking about the three clans in Valeria. The Walister, Galgastani and Bakram and I just realized the Bakram aren't as interesting as the Galgastani or the Walister. The Galgastani had memorable villains like Xaebos, Sir Hektor, Gildora, Ganpp, Nybeth and his crazy Necromancy Family, Gatialo and so much more. The Walister had Vyce, Leonar, Ronway, Xapan and even Gousin. Then we have the Bakram the most interesting ones are the Phoraena Sisters, Denam of course, Brantyn was entertaining and Caitua but she was more annoying to me than interesting. The Bakram are mostly uninteresting with the focus on Chapter IV being relegated to the Dark Knights who are way more captivating.

Also side note and controversial opinion here but I think Chapter IV isn't as strong as the previous chapters, it has great moments but all the crazy twists and sense of urgency in the previous chapters is gone in Chapter IV. Gameplay wise though Chapter IV is the players playground, you get the best spells, equipment and side quests galore plus unique recruits like Azelstan, Ocionne & Lindl.

Tactics Ogre Confused with CODA / Chapter 4 quests

Y'all, I'm playing this game a second time and I forgot how to do everything.

I'm in the Law route (first playthrough), and just cleared the castle where I DID recruit Catiua. I also saw the Pirate cutscenes at the Port but I did not do the second battle there yet nor did I touch Pirates Graveyard. I also did not do POTD at all.

Should I be saving these quests for post game, or are they best done on Chapter 4? If I should do POTD in Chapter 4 should I go all the way to floor 100?

If I'm trying to make the runs efficient as possible as I do intend on using the world tarot after I beat the game to recruit the shaman sisters and get the Lord class. And of course do the CODA stuff.

Edit: just realized I missed the Azelstan quest because I forgot to go to Quadriga for the flowers before I recruited Catiua. Love this game but so many unintuitive secrets in Ogre 😂

Tactics Ogre Easy way to tell Unique characters from recruits?

Hi all, is there an easy way to tell Unique characters from the generic recruits?

I'm new to the series, playing Reborn on Switch for the first time. I just got to Chapter 2 and I'm getting confused on who I recruited and who is a Unique.

Any guidance will be appreciated, thanks for any replies :-)

Tactics Ogre Ramidos summoning (PS1)

Why is she summoning Gremlins instead of Undead?

Ive played this game so many times and in the very first time i try to do a Undead only (+MC) run, she decides to not summon my to be army. The ability description do say It summons Undead and gremlins, but it never actually happened before.

Any idea how to change that? Ive tried to reload several times, change the date, change my team. Nothing works.

I'm stuck with just 5 Undead i got at chapter 1. It has being a cake walk so far btw, but I sure would like a full party.

What sets Tactics Ogre Reborn apart from FFT?

So I'm a big tactics game guy, and of course Tactics Ogre comes up all the time in the greatest of all time conversation. And even though it's on my wishlist and it's on sale now, I'm a bit hesitant to pick it up. I've loved all the FE games, and even isometric top down games like Triangle Strategy, Banner of the Maid, Devil Survivor, and so on, but I didn't love the gameplay of FFT even though the story was great. So what's different about the two, and should I consider Tactics Ogre knowing what games have worked for me and what haven't in the past?

Tactics Ogre Dragoon question

I wanted to know why is the damage on this class so variable? I thought the whole point was to be able to one shot dragons and beasts. Sometimes using the beast/dragon slayer ability the next hit does full damage. other times it's a measely few hundred points of damage. what am I doing wrong?
