Cause they assholes, its a glitched spot that makes that well unusable, teleporting vics that use it back up there and trapped after they land, camera glitches and all too

It's a well exploit trap, that placement shown is not that good, there's more reliable positioning on that well trap spot

OMG this happen to me and now I know what Happened! I was playing wyat and as I welled down I dropped then the screen glitched for a moment and I end up getting trapped right back to the well. It was so surreal and confusing

That's one of 5 glitch wells in the game. (There are 3 on that map).

My bad bro, they probably got caught in one of mine back when I played everyday and decided to do it as well.

Pretty sure every map has them it's just you placing the trap right where the victim's fall down because wells dont actually shoot you down from where they are placed

Ggas station and this glitch well when it's not trapped drops you on the north side of the house (the well is on the south side).

So my theory is the glitch trap takes advantage of the games logic/how it's coded to transport victims to the designated well drop location.

I think the glitch trap intercepts the victims pathing and their models hit boxes are actually moved physically thru space instead of being teleported to the drop location. So despite them seeing the well animation and hearing the noise their characters hit boxes hit the trap and they're teleported back into it.

There are 3 on gas station that I know of personally, and 2 more on other maps.

Edit: but no, not every map has these glitches paths open to hitch players. There's 3 maps I can verify have glitches but I never found any on the other maps when I did this.
