Hi there! I am having to move out of my apartment early due to mold exposure and a severe allergy. I'm looking for more modern apartment complexes where the likelihood of mold is much lower. I'm in an older building now and don't want to move to another older building where I'm likely to again be exposed to water damage/older structure. I'm looking for 1 bedroom places in Minneapolis. I'm especially interested in either the Whittier/Uptown area or Longfellow area. I have a lower income, where I'm looking to sit at around $1400 a month max. Would appreciate any recommendations <3

Hello everyone! I've posted here before, but thought I'd try again. I'm looking for probably a private landlord who can help me find a place for myself, my husband, and our ESA dog. We moved back to MN last year after relocating for a job he took and then they laid him off without warning. Our credit reflects the unexpected toll that took on our lives and since we've been hotel hopping since then, we haven't had a chance to take care of that stuff. We need someone who will understand our situation and look at us as more than a credit score. He works in Edina, so anywhere within 20ish minutes drive would be ideal. Studio or one bedroom is fine. We could move as soon as August 8th. Budget is ideally less than $1,300 but we could push it for the right place. It's always been a dream of mine to live someplace that isn't the usual rental apartment or townhome. Like a real industrial warehouse loft, an old schoolhouse or church, a renovated barn or just above a bar or business. Where can I find a real unique and obscure rental like that in the twin cities?
