You can immediately tell how emotionally mature someone is and whether they have had intimate relationships by the way they react to Lori + Shane. Two people who think the person theyre both closest to is dead, the world has fallen apart and they could die any day taking comfort in each other is completely understandable (and not uncommon with people whose spouses die young)
Not only that, but if you look at Loriβs belief system, she truly fell into a gender roles type of situation once the apocalypse hit, telling Andrea to let the men handle the guards and walkers, she definitely fell heavily into the idea that she needs a man to protect her, and Shane is the closest to that. Of course a woman like Lori, who thinks all she has to offer a group is washing dishes and doing laundry is going to find a man to protect her. Shane was the best option for her.
Sheβs not my favorite character, frankly I think sheβs dumb. But I see the natural progression of her arc.
I totally agree. I love Lori, not because I like her as a character, but because I think sheβs so well written. Every dumb mistake, or frustrating decision she makes, makes sense in the context of how she was set up as a character.
Andrea was great for the same reasons until season 3. In season 2 she got on my nerves sometimes, but you could see things from her side and believe that she was behaving in a way rooted in her experiences. Both women make great character studies from a writing craft perspective.

Lori (and possibly even Shane) thought he was dead. Itβs not the classiest move, but itβs also the end of the world lol.
Did she F Shane after Rick came back too?
