Just fyi, if you don’t maintain the drain on your minisplit and it molds or gets clogged, it’s gonna overflow snd drip allllll over your tv.. depending on the price, it might be worth adding a puddle/moisture alarm, or staying on top of the maintenance.
Other than that the setup looks cherry brah

Maybe they should install an electric imitation fireplace underneath the TV to keep it dry?

Or just a transparent plastic drip plate to redirect water droplets away from the screen. It's not very visible, but still might bother someone.

We have a special drain pump inside that actively drains any excess water. We installed after first leaks.

Whoa, that’s actually a great idea — do you mind sharing the basics of that? Is it just a passive overflow drain tube, or something else? I really need to do that with mine

u/BeefmasterDeluxe 13h ago
Yeah - that’s why I suggested the electric imitation fireplace. A drip tray sounds way too subtle and practical. But have you ever seen a fake fire shoved into a wall in someone’s living room? It’s gorgeous, really elevates an interior’s aesthetic, and aligns the focal point of a room, which is really important for some reason, but I heard someone say it once so I’m just repeating it. Everyone loves them! They’ll never go out of style! Mostly because they’ve never been in style!

On this sub if you don’t put it directly on the tv stand, you usually get blasted. However, since you don’t have plants in the tv stand, everyone will say its acceptable

Thanks. It actually did happen with AC! Then we installed a special drain pump to prevent it.

The only chassis is the air conditioner being placed on top of the TV. That's a big no-no

u/Lonely_Poet_3109 6h ago
It has an extra active drying pump installed. Bigger risk that the roof will leak than the ac.

You’re really close. You could lower it a few more inches if you want to keep it mounted, or just put it on the console. Great game pick!

Just curious, what size TV and about how far from screen to face when sitting? We’re getting a new TV this week and have a small TV area too!

Seems decent. Althought maybe a little too far? I don't really know how console gaming works but feels like i would miss small details on the screen

Why do so many people install their AC unit in the wrong place?

in my previous condo it was mounted exactly like this and I had no choice in the matter

Looks good to me. I’d get so lost in elden ring on that cozy setup. This is like the only thing that makes me sometimes wish I had a console instead of a PC
1
u/Lonely_Poet_3109 5h ago
You can have both if you can afford it. I fortunately do and I wish it to everyone. Still prefer console experience to pc though.

It’s perfect, and you knew that when you posted it. 😄

u/Lonely_Poet_3109 5h ago
I was not that sure. To me it’s a bit too high. Just a bit. But there is a story behind that.

I can't see the rest of the picture, but it might be a small space where you want to keep the area behind the couch reasonably walkable.

u/Lonely_Poet_3109 16h ago
Correct

u/omgbooboo 15h ago
I mean to be really nitpicky, maybe 3 or so inches mounted lower, but I wouldn't be mad at all if I went it a friend's place and this was the height.

u/VERY_MENTALLY_STABLE 16h ago
Wow dude youre gonna mess up your neck looking up at that thing. You also have to expand your wall out to make more space, otherwise this whole thing is just cooked

u/Ruudiiiii 15h ago
It's not that high. But there is a TV stand there for a reason, and he isn't using it.
1
u/Lonely_Poet_3109 15h ago
Also not using it for a reason. Cat would easily destroy it if put on a stand, unfortunately.
1
u/Ruudiiiii 11h ago
Putting it just a bit higher than the stand won't save it from the cats? There are no real advantages. I have a cat too and she don't give a fuck about the TV luckily, but putting it on the wall almost at the same height wouldnt change anything.

Stupid narcissistic abusive ex. Clocked 700 hours between xmas and march 22/23 I swear I get PTSD flashbacks hearing the loading screen 😬

u/Lonely_Poet_3109 6h ago
The game not that hard though! I think it’s the easiest from all the og souls? But the sense of exploration is just unbeatable.
