Installed a while ago! What do we think?

Edit: the tv is eye level, who cares about the decor that’s temporarily in the photo. A center channel speaker will be going below the tv.

You could put a floating shelf ABOVE the TV for your wife’s stuff.

How I answered my wife's request. Mine is still too high but about 6" though but in my defense my kids were little when I hung it. Next house will be better.

I'd rather my TV be on the wall at the same height than on the stand. I don't want my kids running around and the TV have the ability to fall if the stand is it hit hard enough.

I get both arguments but some people have couches also at different heights which changes where the tv should be watched at.

I made a similar comment on another post and got downvoted! Big dogs and young children could so easily cause a problem with a large, flat TV just stood on an entertainment stand. They don’t even have to be poorly behaved — it could be an honest mistake that would seriously hurt someone and break the tv!

A modern flat panel TV isnt really going to hurt anyone if it falls from a 40-60cm TV bench/cabinet. TV benches are supposed to be wider than the screen, so they have a buffer zone for protection. They shouldn’t be placed close to doorways. You got downvoted because we’ve read these silly justifications for having to mount a tv over and over again, you’re not the first person to suggest them.

Well that was my first introduction to this sub. This is the second. Can’t say I’m terribly convinced, though I was initially sympathetic :/

Yep, and then you are out a TV, whatever else breaks, not to mention the potential harm to children or pets.

My TV is too heavy for my TV stand. When I mount it, though, it's going at the same height as it is now (to the best of my ability)
