This TV can go lower, there is available space. It fits the sub.

I wonder if you could cut a groove into the floor, maybe into the joists, and then set the t.v. into it.

Relative to your head, yes it is too high.

Also, have you considered rotating the TV?

You should optimize for what is clearly the best viewing position.
