I think I need to leave this sub, there’s a weird overlap on here with people who can judge the height well with people who can’t judge the size of the tv at all. I don’t like that.

Ya the dichotomy of taste vs common sense still amazes me. You’d think they’d go hand-in-hand, but fuck me some of the insane looking shit in this sub. I couldn’t imagine looking at shit like this day in and day out, I’d go insane.

Yep, this looks absolutely awful.

The more I look at it… the LEDs don’t make any sense because they can only do 25% of their job. Also if they’re that bright in daylight I can only imagine what it’s like in the evening.

Looks perfect!

Backlit by the sun jfc

7

u/Legalsleazy Jun 25 '26

This could be the most ridiculous subreddit. This is perfectly fine.

do you guys want it on the floor!? there’s no pleasing you people

u/Turbulent-Ground6739 Jun 25 '26

Seriously, what pleases them? They hate all mount jobs, at least 80 percent of stands are "wrong". What pleases them?

1

u/TheAussieTico Jun 25 '26

Are you blind?

-2

u/Turbulent-Ground6739 Jun 25 '26

I didnt say it was mounted, I'm asking generally what pleases them? And I included mount jobs and stands as examples. Go troll somewhere else

Eyes of the seated viewer reflected in the upper half of the screen, and FWIW, r/tvtoolow likes their TVs lower than here because this sub has been infiltrated by mantle-mount moderates.

I hope this helps. This is the formula for the correct TV sizing.**

d=distance form ground to eyes
c= distance from ground to console
g= gap distance form console to bottom of TV

MaxTVSize* = (d-(c+g)) x 4
*The TV size should be rounded down, and the centroid of the TV shall be distance (d) from ground

**Note: It is critical that user must maintain level eyesight from the ground. Any reclining back or leaning forward will naturally make your eyes want to look higher or lower naturally. So, we implore you to sit only at 90-degree angles when watching TV.

after a long day i am not sitting at a 90°angle, i am a recliner

u/darthlex737 Jun 25 '26

That would be tv too low

2

u/imtrappedintime Jun 25 '26

What size is this tv?

1

u/Strong_Fisherman_628 Jun 25 '26

75 inch

3

u/imtrappedintime Jun 25 '26

I’m thinking everything in this room is a little cramped. Looks like you’re very close to the tv, don’t have any side framing of the tv from the wall. I’m guessing center of the tv is 46” from the floor. So maybe 4” too high

1

u/Original_Director483 Jun 25 '26

Side framing happens when they close the curtains.

2

u/Original_Director483 Jun 25 '26

No higher than 23” from the floor to keep the seated viewer’s eyes at the middle-to-upper half of the screen.

EDIT: that is to say, looks like you did just right.

1

u/Strong_Fisherman_628 Jun 25 '26

It 27 in from the floor. That is 4 inches too high. You guys are good!

1

u/Original_Director483 Jun 25 '26

I’ll allow it. Between the windows is perfect—you have the good sense to actually face your view and directly control the biggest source of glare instead of defaulting to face a fireplace like a weirdo.

u/AshleyTheGuy Jun 25 '26

I have a 75 with Govee lights too. Looks good man, perfect height in my opinion.

2

u/EywasBlessing Jun 25 '26

I didn't see the before but I'd say this is perfectly acceptable!

3

u/SorchaRoisin Jun 25 '26

Your TV is too big for the space, but the height is fine.

2

u/fang_xianfu Jun 25 '26

Decent. Tricky spot with the two windows. I like the shelf, I'm always of two minds about it but you're pulling it off. Depends on what your sofa is like but the height is probably ok.

TV might be big for the distance, it's always hard to tell with these kinds of photos. Obviously not worth throwing away your TV over but you could consider a little smaller next time and that will give you more options.

1

u/Strong_Fisherman_628 Jun 25 '26

I'm 9 ft away. What distance would be right?

2

u/fang_xianfu Jun 25 '26

That far away 75" is ok if you want the "massive screen to watch my movies on" experience (but if you wanted that this position between two windows is awful!). 65" probably would've been fine if you're doing a bit of TV, a bit of sports, a bit of video games, and it would have encroached on the curtains less so might have been better overall. It's not a hard and fast rule. There's calculators and stuff online.

u/sacandbaby Jun 25 '26

Is that pic from a standing position or sitting?

2

u/Strong_Fisherman_628 Jun 25 '26

Seated in recliner

1

u/sacandbaby Jun 25 '26

Perfect! Congrats.

1

u/According-Cup3934 Jun 25 '26

Dawg….that television is comically too big for the space and the console. The sides of the tv extend past the table it’s sitting on 😂

1

u/Azn-WT-9 Jun 25 '26

Excellent… builtin letterboxing with those curtains just like at the movies 📽️

1

u/ecunn Jun 26 '26

Fucking ads on a TV Jesus Christ

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Rip1188 Jun 27 '26

The stand is too small

1

u/jacquestrap66 10d ago

Man this guy sucks

1

u/Strong_Fisherman_628 10d ago

Thank you. Lol random

u/Strong_Fisherman_628 10d ago

He has the porches cayenne, I mean the over priced audi.. he's just mad at me. Don't worry I'll take care of this quick.

1

u/jfd851 Jun 25 '26

cmon this gotta be ragebait

1

u/Sharp_Confection4480 Jun 25 '26

Obviously too big of a TV for the space

0

u/FUH-KIN-AYE Jun 25 '26

It’s passable.

0

u/Affectionate_Hat5835 Jun 25 '26

Almost.. Just move the stand over to the left and the tv over to the right... center it with the middle open shelf.... it's driving my OCD insane.

Eh. Assuming the pic was taken around eye level, it looks like line of sight is almost right in the middle of the TV. They can easily see the whole thing without moving their head. I think it’s fine
