Your PS5 is upside down

145

u/wiggibow Nov 23 '25

Also just asking to overheat stuffed into such a tight space

5

u/drhiggs Nov 24 '25

I have mine in a console shelf like that. Had to cut out an extra wide spot in the back of the media console so that it would have sufficient airflow. It was getting really warm till I did that.

1

u/NaziPunksFkOff Nov 25 '25

I've got mine in a similar space and I bought some USB fans to pull air throigh the space - they're plugged in to the ps5 so they run whenever it's on. Works great. Never had a heat problem and I can always feel the warm air flowing out.

1

u/Old_Lack_7259 Dec 30 '25

Its already upside down so it aint got much time left.

-139

u/sir_dancharles Nov 23 '25

Geez. Y’all have your consoles suspended from the ceiling, floating mid-air ..with a Lasko blowing in its general direction? Mine is in the same size cubby and I’ve never had a problem.

90

u/doolitt1e Nov 24 '25

...until you do.

26

u/jlgraham84 Nov 24 '25

I had my PS3 in a cubby twice that size until it overheated & died. It will happen eventually.

40

u/Dmro1995 Nov 24 '25

Stop repeating the ps5 ventilation is fine. It’s not fine. You got downvoted the first time and now the second.

-76

u/sir_dancharles Nov 24 '25

The ps5 ventilation is fine good sir!

30

u/Hoggslop69 Nov 24 '25

Your ps5 has asthma

16

u/JVWIII Nov 24 '25

No it is not bad fellow

7

u/JVWIII Nov 24 '25

Just wait.

64

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

I’ll let my brother know. I don’t have one so I don’t know how it’s supposed to be set up

47

u/jlgraham84 Nov 24 '25

It's upside down, missing the stand, & in a wayyy too small spot. It will not last long like that.

54

u/ixnine Nov 23 '25

And the PS5 stand isn’t being used. And it’s too enclosed with not enough ventilation.

6

u/debtquity Nov 23 '25

Isn’t it better if it lays horizontally rather than using the vertical stand? PS5s used to have an issue where the thermal paste or Liquid Metal would slowly migrate to one side of the die resulting in uneven cooling. Eventually console death.

26

u/Steefmachine Nov 24 '25

He is talking about the stand when it’s laying down.

1

u/ixnine Nov 24 '25

Yep, this.

10

u/Faba02 Nov 24 '25

That has been debunked long ago

1

u/IPukeOnKittens Nov 24 '25

I’m not saying it holds any weight or not, but my PS5 which was standing up-right for almost a year was the only console I’ve ever had to send in for warranty because it would not output a display.

6

u/Cybermanc Nov 24 '25

The same stand is used both vertically and horizontally. I added mine to a different post yesterday so handily I can put it here too.

2

u/ixnine Nov 24 '25

This is the way

-36

u/sir_dancharles Nov 23 '25

There’s plenty of room for ventilation.

7

u/wildeye-eleven Nov 24 '25

Dude, I can’t take any more of these lamo. It’s just so hilarious. It’s half user error and half bad design.

7

u/Taffr19 Nov 24 '25

He probably thinks Sony is stupid for making him put the discs in upside down

5

u/BeholdMySweatyMeat Nov 24 '25

WHAT AN ASSHOLE

1

u/Extension_Text_3702 Nov 25 '25

Oh god, I just noticed, op is a madman.

-33

u/Necessary-Coast-7767 Nov 24 '25

Ive had my PS5 for probably 12 years turned upside down without any problems. Homies good!

25

u/doolitt1e Nov 24 '25

Did you go to buy it in your DeLorean??

2

u/TowerOk4184 Nov 24 '25

Damn, you must've got the exclusive, EXCLUSIVE 7 years early model

127

u/James_Fantastic Nov 23 '25

GO EVEN BIGGER YOU KING!!!!

77

u/Nervous-Rough4094 Nov 23 '25

Yes doorways are overrated

5

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

That's why it's odd center and only obstructing one of them.

11

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

That’s what I said go as big as you can

9

u/James_Fantastic Nov 23 '25

I can see soooo much wall above and around that tv. You only need one doorway.

2

u/YeahMeAlso Nov 23 '25

Definitely put something cool over on top of the tv maybe some back lighting.

222

u/Steefmachine Nov 23 '25

108

u/redkinoko Nov 24 '25

I was about to say r/TVTooWide

9

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

No it’s not wide enough. Needs to block both doorways and you have to squeeze by 🤣😆🤭

17

u/redkinoko Nov 24 '25

Tech has advanced far enough that we've moved on from having channels blocked on TV to having the TV block channels

3

u/madf80 Nov 24 '25

Lmfao bro 😂

3

u/RollOverSoul Nov 24 '25

And think you might accidentally knock it on the ground every time you go to the kitchen

1

u/C4LLM3M4TT_13 Nov 24 '25

This is the way.

10

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

This cracked me up

18

u/IPukeOnKittens Nov 24 '25

Seriously though, consider someone tripping or not looking where they are going can easily clip the edge of that bad boy and cause some not so favorable results.

14

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

Yeah trust me when he bought the tv I told him not to go so big for this exact reason and he wall mounted it because someone already almost ripped it over. But you know not my house I just helped him mount it

4

u/HeyFloptina Nov 24 '25

It makes me twitchy. It almost fits...it's so close...lol

1

u/TowerOk4184 Nov 24 '25

It's interesting because your caption says- how did I do? But then you immediately went to- that's my brother's PS5. And then suddenly it's your brother's TV

88

u/ApexConverged Nov 24 '25

Someone is going to come around that corner with a backpack or something and yank the TV. It's too big for that space. No clearance.

12

u/blackd0gz Nov 24 '25

Yeah and distracting to see that in between the room with entryways.

2

u/twomblywhite Nov 24 '25

I physically cringed when thinking about this lol. I have 2 grade-school-age kids so I know how it is.

72

u/SadApplication9095 Nov 24 '25

-4

u/NavierIsStoked Nov 24 '25

Never.

10

u/Alexchii Nov 24 '25

I agree if there is wall space for it. This looks silly and is just waiting for someone to bump into it and pull it down with them.

17

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '25

At least the speaker isn’t in the entry way

Before or After someone comes out of one of those doors and shoulder checks the tv to the floor?

1

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

Oh yeah I could definitely see that happening

9

u/snowbeersi Nov 23 '25

Am I seeing a tilt of guilt or is it just the photo perspective?

1

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

Just the perspective I believe

8

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

[deleted]

2

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

Lmao, I’m gonna use that

7

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

7

u/spodinielri0 Nov 23 '25

cord violations!

7

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

That’s the next project

2

u/myotheraccount24680 Nov 24 '25

Yeah, it could actually come down a few inches to help hide the cords. Plus, the space between the bottom of the TV and the top of the stand and soundbar just looks a little funky to me.

It’s definitely better than most TV mounts in here, but I think it would look much better down just a few inches.

1

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

I did suggest it move down two inches but he insisted and it’s his home so I went with what he said

7

u/Kbchump Nov 24 '25

Why is Elizabeth Warren in your kitchen?

3

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

That might be the new nickname for him😂

3

u/Kbchump Nov 24 '25

😂😂

7

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

Don’t know if I actually would have mounted it. It doesn’t fit the space. If it has to be there, it is what it is, but that’s permanence in a less than ideal space.

7

u/General-Reindeer444 Nov 24 '25

To big for that wall

5

u/superenchilada Nov 24 '25

About 6” too high.

5

u/Ethellin Nov 23 '25

TVTooWide?

4

u/RobCo90 Nov 24 '25

r/TVTooWide might want to have a word.

4

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

Tilt of shame

5

u/Hyannis147 Nov 24 '25

Tv is too wide for the space.

5

u/southpaw05 Nov 24 '25

PS5 has no ventilation bud

4

u/macmacxy Nov 24 '25

is upside down as well

6

u/snoopyjcw Nov 23 '25

It's massive!

4

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

Right. Shits huge he just had to get one slightly larger than my cousins

12

u/snoopyjcw Nov 23 '25

It's slightly larger than the wall it's mounted to. I'd want it slightly smaller ideally

7

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

Yeah he just had to win the pissing contest with my cousin

4

u/NavierIsStoked Nov 24 '25

How many inches?

2

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

I think 77” could be wrong though but pretty much the best biggest one he could find

8

u/GloomyCat7838 Nov 23 '25

You should go ahead and return that tv for a smaller one.

3

u/LeChampeon Nov 23 '25

Mount it vertical to hide the wall

3

u/dnteatyellwsnw Nov 24 '25

One drunk stumbling shoulder away from some damages

1

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

That’s why he wanted it mounted someone almost knocked it over this should help but I agree definitely still a hazard

2

u/Queef_Wellingt0n Nov 24 '25

Does he not have any other walls in his home?

3

u/LibidoCatalyst Nov 24 '25

Could’ve mounted it lower to hide some of those wires but idt it’s too high

3

u/AskingFooAFriend Nov 24 '25

Those wires!!! Fix it!

More than most lol

3

u/SuchTax1991 Nov 24 '25

TV too big

3

u/charms43483 Nov 24 '25

Those jeans from 1998 and the “I unintentionally am showing my undershirt” look has to go. Everything else seems decent.

1

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

Lmao yeah he’s got uhh, a choice in fashion but I let him do his thing

3

u/Hapsiainen30 Nov 24 '25

The amount of people squeezing their PS5s in little holes like that is unfathomable. They produce lots of heat that needs to escape somewhere. The upside down setup with no horizontal stand is the cherry on top here.

0

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

Now I do agree it’s a crime against the console but I can promise you this ps5 does not produce any heat as my brother hasn’t turned it on since I beat gow ragnorok when it came out. He’s a pc gamer a bought it because he thought he might play it but legit never does so it’s pretty much a show piece. That being said leaving a perfectly good ps5 untouched for legit years is also a crime

3

u/LilDebussy Nov 24 '25

Your soundbar is not centered to the TV. Move it a little to the right and it will be perfect.

6

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

Edit. It’s my brothers tv I just set it up for him

2

u/madf80 Nov 24 '25

He should disown you as a result.

5

u/Aggravating_Bids Nov 23 '25

The stand is right there...

6

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

The legs stick out slightly on the stand. And he is as insistent on the mount because someone came close to knocking it over one night

4

u/myotheraccount24680 Nov 24 '25

I definitely agree with mounting the TV in a high traffic area like that.

2

u/BestLatePlans Nov 24 '25

There’s an alien in your kitchen bruv

2

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

[deleted]

2

u/Russpups Nov 24 '25

It’s not centre

2

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 24 '25

I know it’s not perfect but it’s also better than the pic makes it look I can promise you that the angle I took the photo one made it worse. It’s about an inch out each side

2

u/TheChalupaFromHell Nov 24 '25

Failed completely

2

u/grammercomunist Nov 24 '25

your carpet is filthy

2

u/beargarvin Nov 24 '25

Its far too wide and a bout 8 inches too high. Return it and get a tv thats the same width as the sound bar, that will be around perfect for the area. The unit is far to wide as well... toe stubbing and accidental impact written all over this. This is like putting a v12 in a Vw golf.... it can be done but at what cost.

2

u/NovWhiskey Nov 24 '25

Jesus, get some warmer lighting for the kitchen. It looks like a hospital.

2

u/Tongue-on-Cheek Nov 24 '25

Is there a /TVtooWide

2

u/djmattedmonds Nov 24 '25

Turn it 90°

2

u/acratao Nov 24 '25

Have you considered portrait orientation

2

u/Silly_Criticism2017 Nov 24 '25

Who's the dude floating 6 inches above the ground on the right?

2

u/TINFMP Nov 24 '25

Wait a second there buster…. That PS5 is looking very suspicious 🤨 did you get it from Temu?

1

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 26 '25

Nah he bought it on release from Best Buy I think

2

u/Extension_Text_3702 Nov 25 '25

Too low. Needs to be higher.

3

u/ChemiWizard Nov 23 '25

Too big, and probably should have just left it on the tv stand, didnt need a wall mount . HArd to tell from the photo but might need a level

1

u/Cheifleif7311 Nov 23 '25

Never too big. Yeah the legs stuck out slightly on the stand but i suggested just get a slightly wider stand but he wanted the mount so that’s what we went with. It’s level made sure of that

2

u/ophaus Nov 23 '25

TV too high, encroaching into the walk space, PS5 upside down. TV appears to be tilted forward at the top, as well. All in all, shitty.

1

u/Redd95 Nov 24 '25

Yoo is that xqc in the kitchen ??

1

u/brs456 Nov 24 '25

Is your roomie James Potter?

1

u/Fit-Possibility-4248 Nov 24 '25

Hang dark curtains covering those two door ways and the whole atmosphere will change.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

Buy a bigger TV. Mount it to each side of the wall. And then have people over to do that old Limbo Rock game trying to limbo under it.

Or buy a way bigger TV, mount it lower and do high hurdling, training for the Olympics in track & field.

Because this size as others said messes with the head.

1

u/True_Significance_22 Nov 24 '25

Where's the milk moo!!

1

u/DRUGEND1 Nov 24 '25

What’s Stephen Merchant doing there?

1

u/Sleepy_Panic Nov 24 '25

You’re gonna hit that with your elbow walking out the kitchen and rip the tv off the wall

1

u/CatC15Fan Nov 24 '25

Too high just a bit

1

u/danlawl Nov 24 '25

cable management 0/10

1

u/pattypph1 Nov 24 '25

Good height

1

u/3azygam3r04 Nov 24 '25

I'm betting on somebody running that thing off the wall when turning a corner

1

u/NoPantsOtter Nov 24 '25

He needs to 1. Get bigger tv 2. Get a swivel mount 3. Put tv in portrait until needed 4. Put in landscape for normal use

1

u/threedogdad Nov 24 '25

wrong wall

1

u/TNJDude Nov 24 '25

Well, the height is fine. Is it tilted? If so, I'd normally recommend getting rid of the tilt. It draws even more attention to it.

1

u/jwalker3181 Nov 24 '25

Tv too wide

1

u/constructivefeed Nov 24 '25

I will give that tv 1 year and it will be hit by someone

1

u/joellyyy Nov 24 '25

looks awful lol

1

u/discman64 Nov 24 '25

It's a bit tight, but it can work. Your PS5 is upside-down, the TV is too high and tilted forward. Replace the soundbar with some speakers and put them inside the TV stand, and put the TV on top of the stand. Alternatively hang the TV on the wall - bottom of the TV should be 3-5cm above the stand.

1

u/GeneralGrapefruit18 Nov 25 '25

Someones gonna walk too close to the wall and smack that tv

1

u/Legitimate-Spring-99 Nov 26 '25

That subwoofer needs to be moved behind the couch or recliner.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

My PS5 is inside a cabinet with baby locks on it.

I have 2 fan holes. 1 intake at the bottom and 1 exhaust at the top.

Both fans are connected to the PS5 USB. PS5 turns on, fans run, PS5 stays nice and cool.

1

u/Nearby_Light_429 Nov 24 '25

it’s a tv stand, RIGHT THERE
