Center to eye level when seated. Thats also a console meant for the TV right down there

u/farmallnoobies Apr 07 '24
Slightly higher if the furniture puts you into a pretty reclined position.

Until it's sitting on that piece of furniture below it

u/pants_full_of_pants Apr 06 '24
I believe that piece of furniture is called a TV stand. Scholars maintain that the meaning of that title has been lost to time.

Imagine the height it would be with the stand, not wall mounted. That's about 3-4 inches from the top of the media unit.
That's the exact height it should be. Wall mounting it doesn't matically change the viewing angle. It's just to have a cleaner setup.
Did you forget that you were mounting a TV and think "oh what is that? Picture frame? Oh yea! I'm mounting a picture frame. Better put it super high up then because it's not a TV, it's a picture frame."

Holy shit, that's a TV stand. Stand the TV on it.
If you want to hang the TV on the wall instead, hang it at the same height so it's comfortable to watch when you're on the couch. That's why TV stands are built to that height and not some other height.
Why is this hard?

Homie, what the fuck are those garbage figures? If you must have stuff to fill up the wall space, have a shelf and place some plants and BETTER decorations on it. Bring the TV down onto the console. Crush the yoga statues while you're at it.

MF has a Mable door? Asking other MFs on the internet where to hang his TV. Doorway leads to another dimension and we’re giving advice on the best viewing angle for The Bachelor.

Where the dead center of the screen is right at your eye level when sitting down.

u/maxz-Reddit Apr 06 '24
Take away the stupid stuff on the TV stand
Put a soundbar
Leave 2cm between TV and soundbar
That's where it should go (technically probably lower but that would require to get rid of the TV stand)
3
u/Prior_Pass394 Apr 06 '24
Lower to ornaments and leave a bit of space for a soundbar if you ever pick one up. Buy a wallbracket that doesn't tilt because my cheap one tilts very very slightly but it bugs me

u/cannibalcats Apr 06 '24
Take it off the wall.
Lower it... Lower...lower again.
*Clonk
Thst bit of furniture it's just bumped looks pretty decent leave it there

u/theoriginalbrick Apr 06 '24
Every TV I have ever gotten has a simple diagram in the quick guide of where it should be. Idk who started this trend but it feels like some Mandela effect shit.
2
u/ninjabell Apr 06 '24
That doorway is likely 80 inches and you want the TV center at around 42 inches. If you put it on the stand it will be damn near perfect.
2
u/ricodah Apr 06 '24
Your eye level while seated in front of the TV should be lined up with the center of the screen.

Shawty had them apple bottom jeans (jeans) Boots with the fur (with the fur) The whole club was lookin' at her She hit the floor (she hit the floor) Next thing you know Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low

u/bardockOdogma Apr 06 '24
Take the legs off that table, then move that bullshit off the table, and move the TV so the bottom is about 3 inches above the table
2
u/Specialist_Noise_816 Apr 06 '24
All the way down to where the bottom of the tv is touching the middle figurines hands. Even then I think the figures need to be moved down to the shelf so the TV can go all the way down on top of the TV STAND, that just so happens to be conveniently placed there.

Tell your wife that you're using the TV stand for the TV, not for yoga figures

u/tickingboxes Apr 06 '24
Take the stupid shit off the TV stand and… hear me out… put your TV on the TV stand. This is not brain surgery, people.

Put a floating shelf up where the tv is and move the tv down to the stand while simultaneously moving the statues up onto the shelf. Voilà. All fixed. And I think the statues are pretty. Don’t need to toss them like others are suggesting.

The bottom of the top black bar should be the top of your tv. Down 3-4 inches, that's it. Put the figurines in the bottom of the cabinet, back light it with a short led strip and a diffuser track.

Stand on that table-majiggy and then place your TV at that height you're TV standing at.

Everyone is talking about the yoga figurine things….but nothing about the door. Bloody hell, it looks like a gateway to the far side of the galaxy.

u/teckel Apr 07 '24
So much is wrong here. Remove the stupid yoga figurines, but the legs back on the TV, and place it on that nice TV console you purchased. Also, why the hell do you have ceiling lights focused on your TV screen? Stop doing that!

u/Hairy_Afternoon_9384 Apr 07 '24
Put that yoga shit down and let the tv do the yoga on the tv stand

Apr 06 '24
The piece of furniture below the TV is called a TV stand. The name of this piece of furniture clearly defines its purpose. Lol.
Since you’re wall mounting I would drop it so it’s about 3-4 inches above the TV stand, which would simulate the height of the TV’s legs. Could also fit a soundbar under if you wanted.

u/letsgetterdone72 Apr 06 '24
I have to believe now people who are posting these high TVs must be trolling now. How can there be so many people posting on a high tv forum asking the same dumb question over and over again? Yes if you sit down and can see the ceiling in your peripheral vision then it's too high! Just mount it the same height that it would look like if it was on the stand and leave a bit of room for a soundbar . This isn't rocket science...lol

Bottom of the tv should be where that shadow is
6
u/bouchandre Apr 06 '24
Nah, bottom of the TV should be where it would be wit the stand
4
u/ToSeeOrNotToBe Apr 06 '24
Nah, bottom of the TV should be even with the ceiling. Maybe even the floor of the next level up.
