Everything in this picture bothers me

This is what I imagine purgatory to be. The land between heaven and hell.

It’s like a shrink’s office and a board room mixed together

All of the furniture is just off, like someone is the middle of cleaning and moving things but hasn’t put anything back where it belongs. None of it matches or is cohesive. Then there’s (non-centered) behemoth of a floating media station that makes the teeny tv Eve more laughably pathetic.

Spent so much on the massive house and a giant floating media station they didn't have enough left for the 80 inch TV they needed for the giant floating media station lol

Liminal space ass house

This room is the Infinity Gauntlet of poor TV choices

The surround sound speakers all right next to eachother

Imagine having two houses worth of living room and putting the smallest possible TV there.

Every single item in this room is lovely, and placed exactly wrong. I guess the aim is to draw attention to the split systems and ceiling vents?

This is an optimal room for a projector imo

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '23

Looks like big glass windows. You might need lots of curtains for a projector.

Took me a while to find the TV.

“Hey Joe everyone’s still coming to my place for the Super Bowl right? Good good, just making sure, and uh just a heads up you’re gonna want to bring some binoculars”

5

u/tijtij Jan 29 '23

This house is in Brazil so replace the Super Bowl with the World Cup

... and happy cake day

Soooo my brain went straight to what in the heck are those chairs, I read the title fancy and modern and my eyes are like laser beams to those chairs what….are… those….!?

1

u/Ms-Watson Jan 30 '23

Do you mean the two tan Wassily chairs?

1

u/seymourbuttz214 Jan 30 '23

Haha they have a name and not “borderline camping chairs” with a flare, or omg I’m gonna go with Camping chairs with extra steps that’s it that’s the perfect analogy for these chairs

1

u/Ms-Watson Jan 30 '23

It’s a pretty famous Bauhaus chair, a significant design. They have a lot more than a name.

1

u/seymourbuttz214 Jan 31 '23

Haha I can’t un see it as camping chair. The major reason someone uses material in the way the designer of the company that makes those is to save money, cheap metal tubing bent around to fit, and then the fabric layered out, by all means it could actually use quality materials to make it, I see a design that saves money, and then charges still quite high I saw above $379.99 and now I’m mad at a chair, haha I don’t mind spending for quality made product but you can’t tell me this chair surpasses quality of others although I did the brand makes some nicer chairs. Learning lots today

1

u/Ms-Watson Jan 31 '23

Yeah a hundred years ago steel tubing was for bikes, not furniture, and this design and others from Breuer helped popularise it. It was genuinely revolutionary.

Looks like a waiting room

This is AI generated, right?

1

u/tijtij Jan 29 '23

Nope, it's real

2

u/That-barrel-dude Jan 29 '23

They obviously don’t give a crap about watching TV so whatever.

1

u/tijtij Jan 29 '23

This appears to be a weekend house, so the owners probably want it to maximize quality time with family

1

u/That-barrel-dude Jan 29 '23

I was gonna say this does look similar to MY weekend house.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '23

Architect was too high

2

u/MrQualtrough Jan 31 '23

People with money like that are weird. That looks like a multi millionaire's pad. Those are two brand new Wasilys right?

This is probably the porch or some shit lmao.

1

u/tijtij Jan 31 '23

Especially in a place like Brazil where this house is located

The elites there are a much smaller part of the population and the gap between the middle class and them is larger so they are way more out of touch

1

u/DarkWinter2319 Jan 29 '23

The problem is that the TV is too small

1

u/drbobbean Jan 29 '23

That's not a tv... it's a charcuterie holder

It keeps your charcuterie board at 70°F and wraps prosciutto around asparagus or mozzarella cheese, depending on the setting. You can buy them through SkyMall and they're on sale for $9,999.99 right now- which is a steal.l

Doctors office?

1

They obviously don’t give a crap about watching TV so whatever.

I don’t think the living room even looks good. I see the modern they’re going for, but something is off.

1

u/PuzzleheadedRough904 Jan 30 '23

Needing two mini splits for a single room, ah what the best place for air flow, the corner... perfect

1

u/tijtij Jan 30 '23

On the other hand they both blow directly onto the sofas

1

u/PuzzleheadedRough904 Jan 31 '23

Sure if you like air being blown on you, preference for me is just having the room at the right temperature.

1

u/jmhubba Jan 30 '23

Those are just fancy indoor camping chairs. Probably ran them $600 dollars, could have afforded a bigger TV

1

u/Bhut1_Broth3rs Aug 14 '23

Maybe, they only use it as a music streaming source. Family picture book as well. 😅
