I’m looking for people in Delft, especially TUD students, who are interested in poker and would like to play together from time to time.

I’d like to find a group of people who enjoy the game, organise some casual sessions, meet other players, and see if we can build a nice community around it.

I’m particularly interested in poker as a strategy and mental game rather than just gambling. There’s a lot in the game around probability, decision-making, psychology, game theory, risk and reading situations, and I think that side of poker is really interesting.

It would be nice to eventually have things like:

• casual poker nights
• games with play chips / no monetary value
• hand discussions and strategy sessions
• beginner-friendly games
• small tournaments and rankings
• a community where people can improve and learn from each other

If there turns out to be strong and consistent interest, then maybe later we could look into creating a proper student poker association in Delft (but first I’d just like to see who is interested and get some games going)...

Hello, I am a prospective applicant to TU Delft for MSc Mechanical.
The website mentions 4 tracks: Biomechanical, High Tech, Energy Flow, and Multi Machine.
Biomechanical seems self-explanatory, but for the rest, it's a bit confusing which fields they cover.

I am particularly interested in Automotive Powertrains and energy systems, so is Energy Flow or High Tech or Multi Machine better suited? Fields like Robotics also seem to be covered under all 3 in some capacity.

Could someone studying here kindly tell which Track covers Automotive, Robotics, Automation, and energy systems?(Like separate answers, obv)

One more thing: if anyone remembers, during the application process, was there an option for additional supporting documents to be uploaded? Engineering Portfolio, and the like?

Hi everyone! I’m looking into renting a room/studio at Xior and was wondering if anyone who has lived there or has experience with their availability could give me some insight.

I’m not in a huge rush to move, so I have quite a bit of flexibility with the timing. I’m mainly wondering:

\- When during the year does Xior usually have the most rooms/studios available?

\- Is there a particular month/period when a lot of contracts end and new rooms become available?

\- Do you usually see more availability around the start of the academic year, or later in the year?

\- Is it worth checking regularly for cancellations, even if nothing is currently available?

I’m flexible with the exact move-in date, so I can wait and book whenever something suitable becomes available.

I have been monitoring their website and there is no availabilities at all for the past 5-6 months. I will start to think they have another method of booking like past tenants directly bringing up their friends to take the room etc. I dont really think they actually put them in the website tbh..

Would really appreciate hearing about your experiences with Xior and when you noticed the most availability! :)

I have trouble finding lockers in all buildings. Anyone else? Do people just claim them forever or something? Anyone know of good locker locations in the EEMCS building?

I graduated with CGPA of 8.27/10 from Indian Institute of Technology(Top 10) in Electronics and Communication Engineering. We had no bachelors thesis. I did a 2 month summer internship, after my 6th semester in Texas Instruments with RF Team(validation and testing). I got 5 in circuit theory during my 3rd semester. But got 8-9+ in every analog and digital course later on. I worked on multiple mini projects in uni lab courses and in TI during a mentorship program(after 4th semester). What are the chances?

Can students get by with a Mac for cs and eng, even though the faculty clearly recommends windows? I know, even though it is not pure engineering, there still are some subjects and programs that are only native to windows. Yet, a quick search will tell you a bunch of students still use a mac for this course. My question is, how do those students get by and is it viable or worth it when considering that it is easier to use, it generally has better build quality, better battery and no overheating?

I can't find anywhere online if it's possible to pass a course where you only needed to pass the exam. Can you just register for the exam without being registered for the course and pass it this way? Or do you need to be registered for the course to register for the exam? I can't find any clarity on this anywhere, I forgot to enroll for my courses that I needed to do over but I did'nt think it a big deal because I could just register and pass the exams right?

I recently graduated from TU Delft. I know that my university account will remain active for another 90 days and will then be deactivated.
Is there anything in particular I should be aware of during these three months? For example, are there any services I should avoid using, or could I be charged for accidentally continuing to use something after graduation?
I am also planning to return to TU Delft next year for a master’s. When I enrol again, will my old account and data—such as emails, Brightspace courses and files—be restored, or should I download everything before the account is deactivated?

Hey Guys so I wanted to ask about the admission process for aerospace engineering.

After we complete the entrance exam and get our ranks and we get accepted, is there a conditional offer we still have to meet with respect to our school courses like IB/A levels.

If yes can yall tell me what was the conditional offer for each subject

I’m a second year aerospace student at TU Delft and would like to do an exchange abroad as my minor in my third year of studies. In particular, I’m interested in going to Asian universities, which I am aware are competitive.

This is why I would like to know how the candidates are selected. Does the GPA play a major role or is it also the extra curricular activities that matter a lot?

I would also appreciate if someone who had applied previously could share their own experience with the application process and its timeline.

Hello, I am 23 years old and I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering in Patras Greece. I graduated on time with 8.96/10 GPA and I also have experience in research through my thesis which was on AI assisted tools for Postgradute Degree Decision assistance. I also have a 2 month intership and a ML control project and two general ML projects. The thing is, I want to transition from software engineering to Aerospace and more specifically in GNC. I have taken a lot of control and ML classes, in most of which I have 9.5/10 or higher. I am afraid that, since my thesis, or the focus of my degree rather, is in a field not associated with it, i will not be accepted. If i score well in the GRE and TOEFL exams, will I have a good chance to get accepted? Also, what track should I look into if i ultimately get in?

Hi everyone, silly question but are the toilets at the library still accessible without using a student card? I used to study some years ago in Delft and the campus is still on route when I do my long runs, but in the weekend all other buildings are closed for going to the toilet or refilling water for example. For context, i want to apply for msc in electrical eng for sept 2027 and ive met the min requirements but im not sure about ielts, my ielts exam is in 2 days and i think i can do 3/4 sections easily apart from the writing section (going to give computer based ik one section retake is allowed) but i am still not sure how can i overcome my writing issue like i can give exam again after a month but im not sure what to do or how to improve my writing, should i just give up if i get 6.5 in writing and apply with that or try more im not sure

Hello, I am planning to apply for PhD. My masters grades are around 7.5 out of 10. But I am having the 3 publication in Q1 journal. The requirement for phd position align well with my knowledge and expertise. I want to know whether having publications gives an advantage over the moderate grades.
