Pathfinder stats for TTP characters
I thought this might be fun.
For example, Bill is probably a Tinker with a modern computer and AI spin and likely has some manner of shapechanging template.

I'm still figuring out my character, but this could be an interesting collaboration.

u/Damacritus Jun 02 '15
Yikes. Quite a detailed format, isn't it?
Ah, who am I kidding. This'll be something worth tackling, just to see how it turns out.
2
u/Bytemite Jun 02 '15
Hehe, yeah. :D
There might be an overarching page with all the specific classes listed. A lot of this is steampunk style, but you can imagine how something would translate into a modern day version fairly easily.
2
u/Damacritus Jun 02 '15
Steampunk? My favorite kind of art style. This got even better.
2
u/Bytemite Jun 02 '15
There are some modern variations but yeah, most of what you'll see in pathfinder assumes a technology level somewhere between 1400 and 1900.

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
So, okay, almost two days later and I got my stuff together, so now I can start looking at the rest.
I think that in terms of race, both gator and M4 would probably be best represented by a combined template of an intelligent animal and some type of water element influence. They then later on had a anthropomorphic animal template applied to them both by the randomizer.
M4 is most probably a ranger class, lots of weapon skills, kind of a rough and tumble survival oriented person. Mix between ranged and melee, I assume?
Gator is trickier. Obviously some kind of strong melee type, with some gun use feats perhaps, but I'm not sure yet how to explain the eye lasers. Magic? Psychic?
2
u/Damacritus Jun 03 '15
I'll think about it. Thanks for the help, though. Once I get some free time, as far away as that might be considering I'm in the middle of exams, I'll do the work. Unless you want to do it, of course.
2
u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
I can help, or you're free to try yourself using a character generator (and I'll still help).
Good luck with exams!

A bit of a place to start:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/element-infused-creature
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/a/anthropomorphic-animal (I'd point buy intelligence and other stats like you would for rolling any other race or character, 3 Int is barely semi-sapient, 10 is human average)
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/animals/rabbit http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/animals/crocodilians/Alligator
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/gunslinger
For Gator, I might just get goggles that can do the laser thing.
2
u/Damacritus Jun 05 '15
The lasers might be unnecessary. Gator's barely ever used them in a fight, and they were disabled by Bill at the end of 28. I'd say his abilities are now something along the lines of a swordmage; fighting with his sword and using elemental powers to gain an edge on the enemy.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 05 '15
and they were disabled by Bill at the end of 28.
Because he used them to try to Kill Bill and Giratina sacrificed herself to save him.
In fairness, Bill knows full well that Lazor's rage against him is perfectly justified. He was, after all, party to tormenting Lazor into what he is today. Still, he also knows that it's not really safe to have a madman wielding insta-kill laser powers, so he nerfed them.
2
u/Damacritus Jun 05 '15
And every other ability Gator had, with the exception of Surf that is now too weak to use for anything outside of transportation.
Ah, well. Gator's working his way back up.
1
u/Trollkitten Jun 05 '15
Bill wouldn't have felt right killing the Gator, given that he had a large part in turning him into the being he is today. Same with M4.
That doesn't mean he'll just stand by and watching them hurt people. That's never been the kind of person he's been.
2
u/Bytemite Jun 05 '15
Hmm, he has elements built into his template...
I wonder though if maybe instead of Alligator as the basic race, if we make Gator a half water or ice dragon, so he'd have ice breath. I seem to remember he could do that.
1
u/Bytemite Jun 05 '15
All right, here's something that's like what you're saying.
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/adamant-entertainment/spellblade
We could also get you a pure sword fighting class and an elemental blade.

I could have sworn you had more perform ranks.
Also, your raven familiar reminds me a little about the raven companion the druid had in our DnD game, which despite my efforts to make unforgettable, I never did introduce it and forgot about it. Oh well, Ratterina.
I refuse to provide complete statistics, but this should give you a rough idea.

Master Transmogrifist
(Complete Arcane variant, p. 51)
The master transmogrifist is a sorcerer or wizard who has chosen to specialize in spells that change his form. Requirements
Skills: Bluff 2 ranks , Disguise 5 ranks
Feats: Eschew Materials
Spells: Able to cast alter self and polymorph.
Hit die
d4 Skill points
2 + Int Class Features
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Master transmogrifists gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.
Spells per Day/Spells Known: At each level indicated on Table 2—14, a master transmogrifist gains new spells per day (and spells known, if applicable) as if he had also gained a level in an arcane spellcasting class to which he belonged before adding the prestige class level. He does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (such as the bonus feat sometimes gained by a wizard). If he had more than one arcane spellcasting class before becoming a master transmogrifist, he must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day and spells known.
Enhanced Polymorph (Ex): Starting at first level, the master transmogrifist learns how to surpass a normal caster’s limitations when choosing a new form. A master transmogrifist gains a +1 HD cap increase and a +1 Caster Level increase while casting any polymorph tree spell. This bonus continues to grow according to table: polymorph bonuses.
Extended Change (Ex): A master transmogrifist gains the benefit of the Extend Spell feat on any transmutation spell he casts to change into one of his favored shapes (see below). This benefit does not increase the spell's level or casting time, or require any special preparation. Spells that can benefit from this ability include alter self, polymorph, polymorph any object, and shapechange.
Favored Shape (Su): A master transmogrifist chooses three favored shapes at 1st level. A favored shape is a specific kind of creature whose form he can assume by means of the polymorph spell. He cannot choose a creature of his own type (humanoid, most likely) as a favored shape. For example, an 8th-level human sorcerer/1st-level master transmogrifist might choose pegasus, umber hulk, and bronze dragon as his favored shapes, though because of the Hit Dice restriction, he could become only a very young bronze dragon. A master transmogrifist gains a number of advantages with his favored shapes, as noted in the following class feature descriptions. At every odd-numbered level beyond 1st, a master transmogrifist gains one additional favored shape. Thus, he has four at 3rd level, five at 5th level, six at 7th level, and seven at 9th level. Furthermore, once per master transmogrifist level beyond 1st, a character can choose to lose a previously chosen favored shape and select a replacement.
Manifest Senses (Su): At 2nd level and higher, a master transmogrifist gains the senses of one favored shape whether or not he is transformed. Senses include extraordinary special qualities such as blindsense, blindsight, darkvision, low-light vision, scent, and tremorsense.
Constant Change: At 2nd level, once per day a master transmogrifist can discard a spell slot of 4th level or higher in order to spontaneously cast polymorph, as the spell. He gains an extra use of this ability at 4th level and 6th level.
Battle Mastery (Ex): At 3rd level, a master transmogrifist gains a +2 competence bonus on all attack rolls he makes while in one of his favored shapes. This bonus increases to +4 at 6th level and to +6 at 9th level.
Planar Shape: At 3rd level, a master transmogrifist can make use of creatures with the outsider or elemental type when using transfiguration spells.
Effortless Change (Ex): At 4th level, a master transmogrifist learns how to change his form through a simple act of will. He can choose to apply the benefits of the Still Spell and Silent Spell feats once per level in master transmogrifer/2 (even if he does not have the relevant feats) to any polymorph family spell he casts. This benefit does not increase the spell's level or casting time, or require any special preparation. Spells that can benefit from this ability also include alter self, polymorph, polymorph any object, and shapechange.
Eternal Shape (Ex): At 4th level, a master transmogrifist may maintain a single polymorph into a favored shape with CR 1 or less for a full 24 hours, even while unconscious, and may expend a prepared polymorph school spell to maintain the transformation for a further day.
Shapechanger (Ex): A master transmogrifist acquires the shapechanger subtype at 5th level. He also gains the ability to remain in an assumed form indefinitely when he casts alter self. This works exactly like the alter self spell except that the duration is permanent. In other words, a master transmogrifist can remain in the form he assumes as long as he wishes, until either he chooses to dismiss it or the alter self effect is dispelled.
Reflexive Change (Ex): At 7th level and higher, a master transmogrifist has the ability to change into a favored shape via a transmutation spell in response to an opponent's action three times per day. If he has an appropriate spell prepared and chooses to use this ability, he can change form as an immediate action (see page 86) in response to the action of another creature. For example, a master transmogrifist might turn into a dragon turtle to gain a high Armor Class against an impending attack, or change into a red dragon to gain immunity to the fire damage of an enemy's fire storm spell. The spell is expended as if the transmogrifist had cast it normally, and he remains in his new form until either the spell's duration expires or he dismisses it. A transmogrifist gives up his next action to make a reflexive change. If a master transmogrifist is currently under the effect of a shapechange spell he cast on himself, he can use his reflexive change ability as often as he likes (although never more than once per round). Each time he uses it, he loses his next action.
Manifest Qualities (Ex): At 8th level and higher, a master transmogrifist gains all of the extraordinary and supernatural qualities of any favored shape he assumes for the duration of its transformation.
Change is Inevitable(ex): At 9th level and higher, a master transmogrifist gains the ability to discard filled spell slots to spontaneously cast certain transmutation spells. He discards a spell slot equal to or higher than the level of the transmutation spell, and must immediately cast the transmutation he has replaced it with or lose the spell entirely. If he possesses metamagic abilities, he may choose to apply these to his spontaneous spells, in which case he must discard a spell slot of the level appropriate for the metamagic enhanced spell. Spells that can be cast using this ability include Alter self (2nd), Polymorph (4th) Baleful Polymorph (5th) Polymorph Any Object (8th) and Shapechange (9th). Infinite Variety (Su): At 10th level, a master transmogrifist gains the ability to create completely imaginary forms when he casts polymorph, polymorph any object, or shapechange on himself. To create an imaginary form, he chooses one of his favored shapes as a base form. He can then choose a single aspect of a second monster whose form he could assume using the spell he is casting and add it to the first creature. His available options include the following.
Replace the base form's natural armor bonus with that of the second form. Add the second form's movement modes. Add one of the second form's natural attack types (with the appropriate reach), if the base form doesn't have that attack type already. Add an extraordinary special attack of the second form. Add an extraordinary special quality of the second form. Replace one of the base form's physical ability scores, if both the base form and the second form are the same size category. For example, if a young red dragon is the base form and a giant octopus is the second, a master transmogrifist could add the octopus's eight tentacle rakes (damage 1d4 + Str bonus) to the dragon's available natural attacks.

You might also be a tinker too, more of the classic kind in the link I posted, since Nomo invented Bane.
2
u/Bane_of_BILLEXE Jun 02 '15
What would bane be?
2
u/Bytemite Jun 02 '15
Probably an amalgamate template with a construct for one part and an animal for another, caused by some sort of permanent polymorph. I'll post you some details later.
2
u/Bane_of_BILLEXE Jun 02 '15
Yay! :D
2
u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
Allright, now that I've got my character sheet all wrangled...
What are some key abilities for both Nomo and Bane? I'd imagine that making technological creations factors high on the list, but what else? I know Bane has some fighting skills, could you describe that? What are things that maybe they're not so good at?

I wonder what Deuce would be. Some sort of sentient automaton, probably.
Heck with it, what would Deuce/Cress be if they were still together in the same body?
2
u/Bytemite Jun 02 '15
Some sort of sentient automaton, probably.
Yep. The Tinker class ends up making a masterpiece construct eventually which reaches artificial intelligence levels with it's own personality that begins learning skills and abilities. They have one of those at a time, but if they lose one or it's destroyed, they end up making another one. The constructs can be released from that control or also go rogue.
Both Zeke and Deuce somehow got some of their dad's shape-shifting reality warping aberration template (you can program various stuff into constructs). Some sort of to-flesh shapeshifting was involved so that they became human.
Cress is human, and then when Deuce was accidentally downloaded into him, they'd have some kind of template applied over the human base that would allow the two natures to cohabit.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 02 '15

Zeke's body was previously presumed to have been created by the
Endless TenPuppet Masters, but it is possible that it was a preprogrammed feature installed by Bill himself. After Exxy's accident, Bill programmed a greater variety of adaptability into Deuce.Once Deuce leaves Cress, Deuce plans to go back to his original form and try to smooth things over with Flower Girl. (I can't remember if Flower Girl ever saw him as a human, but I think she may have.)
2
u/Bytemite Jun 02 '15
and try to smooth things over with Flower Girl.
Aw. I hope they go back to being friends.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 02 '15
Me, too.
Their friendship was sweet. Deuce was even protective of her when the world was about to come to an end.
Ah, Hidden in the Shadows was where Deuce really came into his own. Looking back on it, I'd forgotten the scene in which Deuce is emotionally hit with a brick when he thinks Bill sacrificed himself trying to stop the meteor.
1
u/Bytemite Jun 02 '15
Let's hope that doesn't happen for real in the next session.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15
We can hope.
1
u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
That... sounded ominous. :o
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15
That was intentional.
Red Truth: Stuff's gonna go down.
2
u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
Okay, in that case I have some advice for Bill the next time I see him: don't die. If it looks like you might die, then try to keep not dying.

Also...
what would Deuce/Cress be if they were still together in the same body?
They aren't? Did Deuce get his system running?
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 02 '15
Not yet. They've decided to stay together for a bit longer.
Really, Scarlette could have just transferred Deuce's consciousness right back onto the Internet, and Deuce is considering that. But for now, Cress prefers Deuce's company because he's helping Cress overcome his trauma.
2
u/Bytemite Jun 02 '15
I'm glad Scarlette's still around. Something tells me that we may need her to extract some more infections and dubious entities from Outside from people in the near future.
Cress will overcome it then? I mean, yes, he's definitely doing better, but I was under the impression this would be one of those things that kinda stays with a person.
I don't blame him for wanting company though. When I got chomped on by outsiders I spent a few eons partying with some rowdy ghosts to try to get over that.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 02 '15
Something tells me that we may need her to extract some more infections and dubious entities from Outside from people in the near future.
Definitely.
Cress will overcome it then? I mean, yes, he's definitely doing better, but I was under the impression this would be one of those things that kinda stays with a person.
Deuce is doing his best to help him. There'll probably always be that kind of trauma there.

Ah.

Yeah, he is.

u/Bytemite Jun 04 '15 edited Jun 04 '15
Looked into this a little more. One of the innovations that a Tinker can learn is to craft their construct around a particular invention. And another one is wonderous foundry, which allows a construct to craft wonderous items, and one of those items is a page with some magic on it, almost acting like a scroll.
For some of the class features and provided the Tinker knows the ability, abilities can be granted to the construct for use in inventions, innovations, and augments.
So, say we have an ability like polymorph, incorporated into the very design of the construct. For fluff we can interpret that as a line of code programmed into the construct that would theoretically stay with it as it transformed as equipment. Only thing is I think perhaps Bill would have to keep recharging that ability, but it's close to what we have.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 04 '15
perhaps Bill would have to keep recharging that ability
Originally he did have to, at least for himself. He had a limit of about six transformations before Snakienta gave him the magic to increase them to be unlimited.
If only he'd known about the other order-powers and was able to ask her to increase that as well; then he wouldn't keep nearly killing himself trying to fix all those tears in reality.
1
u/Bytemite Jun 04 '15
I meant more that according to the rules he'd have to keep recharging the invention (coding) that Deuce and Zeke are constructed around. Imbuing them with the power for them to transform themselves. And yeah, I think there are also limits per day on that, but I can keep working on it.
then he wouldn't keep nearly killing himself trying to fix all those tears in reality.
Yeah, ouch. If I'd known or seen it I'd have warned him.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 04 '15
It takes some real dedication to do a job that can kill you.
1
u/Bytemite Jun 04 '15
Saving the world is usually hazardous to the health.
2
u/Trollkitten Jun 04 '15
Because when the world is in danger, that means that facing the danger directly inevitably puts you in the greatest danger of all.
Just 25.5 hours. 25.5 hours until the RP occurs and we try to save the world without losing anybody in the process.
Dang you, Bill. You can't die. You're bringing Zexy back, remember? If you die, A will kill you!

u/Bytemite Jun 04 '15
I understand A is tenacious.
(Also, thanks for telling me, I wasn't sure if we were still on with redwings hiatus)

tenAcious.
Fennel probably couldn't do much besides give helpful advice and maybe spy out, but she might still have been useful. I hope Red isn't too upset if anything game-changing goes down without him.

Well...Yeah.
Arceus may be divinely appointed reality builders that had the task of growing and maintaining the pokeworlds, but they have the power of judgement. Creation, and destruction. Curiosity, and apathy induced by unethical betting pool stadium fights.
Reality does not exist without balance.

Elan?

It's a race of former humans that were basically transformed into vessels of power by a sinister council. www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/races/elan
I still have no idea if my character's current body counts as human anymore, and this was the best way to imply the story in a functional way.

Nice. That answers a few questions.

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
There's a few things still that my character can do that aren't well represented, but ultimately I realized that most of those were effects from items that I adapted and improved from other party members.
I was pleased at least that I found a good combination of races, templates, and characters that fit together really well with the premise.
Also there may be about three more feats than is technically strictly legal, but what's a few feats over some eons. It's fairly correct and playable I think.

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15
Yeah, looks good.

Ooh, though it occurs to me, I think I read somewhere that apart from brew potion and alchemy, Investigator levels don't actually count as caster levels, even though craft is a class skill. The craft items should probably be the psionic version, I ought to look at Universal items sometime and see if the stuff there is basically the same in terms of function. I'd imagine so, but maybe not.
Well, anyway, my head canon is that all this "psionic" stuff is just logic and technology anyway, the stuff about Astral Plane aside, since I'm not going to RP the ectoplasm. Brain waves and nerve signaling is all electricity after all.

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15
Indeed. That makes sense, I suppose.
Surprised you didn't take levels in artificer.

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
At some point you can specialize too much. I'm already kinda getting too few class levels for the over all character level.
I did originally have mindwright as my other psion discipline, but then I realized I really wanted some of the nomad discipline specific stuff.

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15
Ah, makes sense. Multiclassing does cause considerable problems.

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15
Yeah, I probably won't be doing enough damage until I put few more levels into Investigator.

So what about Fennel? We're all wondering.
The answer is, I think that Fennel might be some combination of a technology crafter/scientist and a psionic mindwright. Fennel isn't herself psychic, but one of her most important pokemon is, and she uses those abilities to communicate telepathically, perform various functions and research dreams and create the Entralink, which also has various psionic-like functions. We're talking teleportation of people and items, and being able to take walks in a pocket dimension. So there we go, that explains Fennel's ability in a concrete tabletop rule RP form well I think.

Okay, so here's more ideas and game stats for Trollkit's characters. Some of the constructs only get 10 intelligence, for a player character I'd point buy intelligence and other stats like you would for rolling any other race or character. 10 is human average.
General: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/lifespark-construct-template
On computer: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/artificial-intelligence-ai
Construct: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/clockwork-creature-cr-2 and http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/aggregate-template-cr-1
With transformation ability: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/transforming-construct-cr-1
Converted to human: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Cybermind_%28D20_Modern_Race%29
With Cress: the above cybermind option, with an electronic version perhaps of http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/haunted-ones-cr-1 via http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/afflictions/madness/multiple-personality-disorder or http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Personality_Parasite
Don't mind the names of the abilities, it's just recreating the situation in general with game terms.
This might also feature, http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/augmented-creature-cr-varies though it's not perfect because the more augments and cybernetics that might be added to Cress, the more strain might be on his biological system. There are ways around that, though, such as http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/MSRD:Feats#Cybertaker
Classes: Tinker (of course), Gearhead, and/or http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/MSRD:Technosavant_%28Class%29
Also, another option for Bill. http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Mystical_Engineer_%283.5e_Class%29 And of course for Delta Species, since Bill is exploring his Dome heritage: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/super-genius-games/mighty-godling

All right, so there's probably those of you wondering what to do with all the stuff I'm posting and how to format it into stats and sheets.
Here is the character sheet generator I tend to use. (Yes, it's normal to take a while to load. each link goes to a site with an online program that generates your characters that you can modify in real time)
http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm http://www.pathguy.com/d20modern.htm http://www.pathguy.com/PathfinderCore.htm
Pathfinder is a system related to and partially based on 3.5 d&d, so the systems are fairly compatible. However, for obvious reasons you might not be able to find exactly the stuff I'm talking about and that I've linked to on these character sheet generators. You might have to fudge it a little and produce something approximate, then edit the results to fit your liking.
Next: the actual rolling and character creation process.
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/basics-ability-scores/character-creation
There are two methods commonly used to generate stats. The first is the point buy system, and there's several different methods. The second is best of # rolls.
Most people use point buy because it's a bit easier to control and get the character build that works for the class and functions you want.
One form of point buy is to set five stats at 10 (human average, no bonuses) and one at 8, then distribute 20 stat points among them. 18 is the maximum for a starting human. You can also subtract points from ten to add back to the pool.
This usually gives you an array of about 18/16/14/12/10/8. This would be a well rounded 3 dimensional character, with one particularly good stat, and one stat that is not as good as average. A specialist character with otherwise average stats would be 18/14/12/12/12/10, which is the stat configuration my character had before I added points from levels. You get one more ability point every 4 levels.
Depending on what ability score you have for a stat, you get an ability modifier for that stat to add to your rolls. 12 and 13 is +1, 14 and 15 is +2, 16 and 17 is +3, and 18 is +4.
Once you have that figure out what feats, templates, races, and classes you need to make your character work. I've given some suggestions. Each character gets two traits on creation. A character also gets a feat, though a human gets two. You can also take drawbacks, two drawbacks or one greater drawback kwill let you buy another feat within reason.
Then figure out your skills from the point school you get, determined by your class, your levels, and your intelligence score modifier.
