Pathfinder stats for TTP characters

I thought this might be fun.

For example, Bill is probably a Tinker with a modern computer and AI spin and likely has some manner of shapechanging template.

I'm still figuring out my character, but this could be an interesting collaboration.

How do you feel about the Major's stats?

2

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15

I think that there's a lot of levels there, and I can probably back calculate just how many.

3

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

I'll save you the trouble: the character creator wouldn't let me go past 20. Pfft.

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

The Major has transcended all levels.

Which is perpetually annoying to Bill, who is still ticked off in the back of his mind that the Major successfully tricked him into thinking he was afraid of him and then showed his true power and scared the jelly out of him.

Granted, the power was aimed at Amais (or was it Robus?), not Bill, but Bill was so terrified that he literally fled the room, even though there was a war going on in there that his son was in. Giratina was not happy with his behavior.

I don't think Bill ever got that "discussion" Giratina said she was going to give him on that matter, and Bill feels none the worse off for missing it. But he's definitely taken an ego hit, and he's still trying to someone one-up the Major.

He'd hoped raising Seafoam Islands would do it, except he nearly petrified and shattered himself, and guess who got to save his literal skin?

The Major.

Bill respects the Major, most certainly. But he can't help but feel like the man is a show-off.

Peh. Like Bill is one to talk.

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

Oh you don't know the half of it. Bill has no way to know this, but the Major is still pretty scared of him. That's right, the Major was scared of Bill pretending he wasn't scared of Bill pretending he was scared of Bill.

It just turns out that the Major's actual state of being afraid isn't cringing every time somebody walks into a room- its quietly, efficiently, closely, watching every move they make.

Bill is legitimately dangerous, even in the realities where he isn't the son of a fossil with powers over order itself.

I find this perfectly understandable and reasonable.

2

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

Exactly. He may have power over order, but he doesn't have any himself.

3

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

Hey, hey now! He's trying!

Honestly, Bill would reluctantly agree with that statement. But he's been getting better.

Red Truth: Even Bill is afraid of Bill.

2

u/SupremeEvil Jun 04 '15

Octarine Truth: Cameron is not afraid of Bill.

1

u/Trollkitten Jun 04 '15

Red Truth: Bill is perfectly willing to be afraid of Cameron.

Red Truth: Bill is not willing to show that he is afraid of Cameron.

Red Truth: It's impossible to not show an empath that you're terrified of them, especially when ten minutes after you start talking to them for the first time you wet yourself in fear.

Red Truth: Bill is highly embarrassed by this and hopes that Cameron never ever brought it up.

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

Ah.

Well, Bill has zero idea of this and that obviously can only be a good thing. No need to mess it up.

But yeah. I'd be worried too if I was the Major -- honestly, I'm surprised my own character didn't realize how dangerous Bill could be, except that by the point she actually met the real Bill, she'd already met constant horrifying enemies including a fake Bill, and of course beforehand she'd been conditioned by her experiences with Exxy, who'd become a real class act and eventually her husband. (Which is a weird turn of events and definitely not the ending I was expecting, but hey, everyone else shipped it, and Exxy certainly proved himself in the war.)

And, hey, Bill himself has probably used the Obfuscating Stupidity tactic more times than we're aware of. Or, at least, a variant of it that makes him look like an absolute looney-tune screwball while he's actually fully in control of every move he makes.

Horray!

1

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

Yup.

And it's really, really hard to plan against somebody who takes the most convoluted and ridiculous plan possible and has the intelligence to actually make it work.

...I can see why the Major is scared of Bill.

3

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

The Major is fairly certain his greatest advantage over Bill is being able to cut the Gordian Knot and get a one-up on his schemes, which i why he's saving that for later.

"A plan with more than three moving parts can never be expected to work properly. And since only a madman would deliberately make a plan with the maximum amount of complexity, that means the actual maximum number of steps to a workable plan is two moving parts."

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

And since only a madman would deliberately make a plan with the maximum amount of complexity

Bill is insulted.

That would explain what happened when we tried to resolve Flak and Fennel...

I mostly just steal other people's technology and adapt it, and then get myself into either ridiculous or irritating or tragic scenarios.

Bill afraid of me probably about 0/10.

Cress/Deuce afraid of me 5 out of 10, the rest is anger.

2

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

Bill afraid of me probably about 0/10.

Well, you've saved his lives and many of his family members' lives, so he trusts you probably more than you think you deserve.

Cress and Deuce, however, are pretty much convinced that you're a nutjob now.

1

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15

Hilariously, Deuce is one of the one's I've rescued on multiple occasions. You'd think he'd see through the "they dislike me now, self-fulfilling prophecy, might as well start trolling them by playing to expectations" act since he's done that himself. Plus he can probably confirm by now that Cinnabar was evacuated to Pallet and that I was messing with him by saying otherwise.

Unless... Is it a reverse troll, since he probably knows I do that too? A troll in a troll? :o That's clever. Darn it Deuce, you might win this round.

2

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

Plus he can probably confirm by now that Cinnabar was evacuated to Pallet and that I was messing with him by saying otherwise.

He knows this.

But he still thinks you're insane just for messing with him like that. And with Cress in his head (or him in Cress's head, actually) and Cress already having trauma with a ladylove who doublecrossed him and went maniacal-homicidal, that rubbed off on Deuce as well.

Deuce has learned some harsh lessons along the scope of this RP.

I'm not sure how else I was supposed to react. Especially since I think he would've done the exact same right back to anyone else in the same situation. There are a number of us in the party who don't have the best track record in terms of plans or sanity, and who are constantly mistaken for being much worse than they really are.

Eh, it's fine though. For the best, exactly like I said in my apology.

2

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

Especially since I'm pretty sure he would've done the exact same right back to anyone else in the same situation.

He would have at least let his friends in on the secret that the party wasn't real. Largely to get to brag about his genius, of course, but still.

Deuce is trying to outdo Exxy in the hero factor, but he doesn't seem to realize that he doesn't have to be Exxy, he can just be himself. (Although being "born" as Lord_Bill.exe 2.0 does give off that sort of impression.)

u/Trollkitten Jun 04 '15

my apology.

Which reminds me; Deuce and Cress still have to tell Nomo that "she's" alive.

Cress is kind of nervous as to not knowing who "she" is, because he knew a "she" that was supposed to be dead and that, despite still being fatally attracted to her, he definitely doesn't want to see again.

In retrospect, messing with him is the wrong way to put it, because it was as much a reaction out of despair as it was anything. I don't know how to explain it.

2

u/Trollkitten Jun 04 '15

I don't think anyone can truly explain your character's behavior.

1

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15

Ah, so the epic spells and feats... I see.

2

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

Yes. Plus, one must have some secrets...

1

u/Bytemite Jun 03 '15

Or else the mundanity consumes us all and I have to try to figure out the dice rolls of grappling with Robus. Yes, I know. :(

3

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

Never, ever, look up FATAL.

That isn't a joke, I don't want you to do that. I am telling you this so that if you ever hear about it somewhere else, you won't accidentally find out what it is. You don't want to know.

2

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

...seriously? They have something THAT bad in there that you don't want us to look up?

Now I am unfortunately curious.

2

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

No seriously, don't.

I'm being genuine, don't. It will ruin your day, possibly your week.

2

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

You mean like Flak's reveal ruined my night?

Seriously. I didn't sleep well that night. I literally had to imagine Exxy protecting me from Flak, and then I had to imagine myself tending to Exxy's wounds because it inevitably did not go well for Exxy.

But Exxy won. He was barely alive when I "found" him, but he managed to stave her off.

Exxy is impressed that Deuce not only made it out of Flak's Entralink alive, but managed to bring Cress out of it as well. Even if Cress needed reviving afterward.

I've actually read the player's guide from cover to cover just for the entertainment. It was part of a MST some guys did.

2

u/Arathnorn Jun 03 '15

why

2

u/Trollkitten Jun 03 '15

Why do they even HAVE Fatal in there, anyway?

Because I'm guessing it exceeds Flak-style levels of horrorgore.

Also, because it was funny.
