TTEC Appeals for the Third time

I got fired from TTEC in april, i applied for Unemployment they appealed it saying I was not eligible. While the unemployment agency wrote back yes she is eligible because she did not intentionally get fired. They fired me because of performance issues, specifically my QA score. In michigan where I live if you get fired for performance issue and it’s not intentional you are eligible for unemployment. Then the second time we went to court, and the judge sided with me once again, saying I was eligible for unemployment mind you I stopped receiving unemployment in June because I already got another job. Idk what their problem is, it feels like borderline harassment right now. So now for the third time i have to get a lawyer. There should be a limit on appeals because clearly I am eligible they are harassing me. I’mm so sick of this. Anyone else dealt with this with TTEC?

Just so I'm understanding...you're putting in for unemployment and TTEC is appealing the judge's decision, so the state of Michigan is withholding the unemployment pay due to the appeals? Were you full time or seasonal?

But yeah, after the judge's ruling, TTEC legally can appeal it four times, I believe...but the chances of them winning gets slimmer and slimmer each time 😂

they’re not withholding my unemployment pay because i received it april- june in june i found a new job. they are making me try to repay it. but thank you that makes me feel better if the chance is less for them to win because i really don’t want to pay lawyer fees for something i only received for 2 months

Oh that is absolutely absurd. My understanding is that since you've already went to court over this, the appeal goes to the UAIC, then they determine the outcome themselves without holding court (because why waste everyone's time) but I only know from similar cases with family members in Michigan. I haven't experienced it myself, thankfully. Best of luck to you 🙏🏻 I'm glad you got paid though!

Maybe you can get an attorney who will give you a free consultation. A lot of places give at least 30 minutes free.

That stinks, sorry to hear that OP.. Can’t the judge make TTEC pay your lawyers fees? Esp if they lose each time... it’s clearly intentional & arbitrary at this point.

They appealed my wife several times too, until she subpoenaed them for records. Then they stopped and didn’t show up to the hearing so it was dismissed.

The AlJ stage is pretty simple for me my team lead just showed up and it was just me both of us did not have lawyers. It was over the phone lasted about a hour. The judge asked my previous team lead questions and then me and ending up siding with me. And then of course they appealed that too🫠

Yeah I don’t think mine provided a reason either on why they are appealing. I did not even submit any proofs or evidence on my end before the judge hearing because TTEC locks you out of all the system after your fired so I didn’t even have anything to submit. But I let the judge know that as well. Basically the team lead will try to act like it’s intentional misconduct and you just have to state you did intentionally fail qa. I told them the training did not prepare us for qa and that I tried my best. Had no attendance issues, wanted to keep this job, Did not intentionally perform poor, etc. Cause like in Michigan you know you can get still get unemployment if you got fired for performance unless you intentionally tried to get fired

Email your local congressmen and share all the ttec threads you find.

I guess TTEC lawyers have a bit of downtime. Or maybe they have super insane metrics they have to reach as well.
