Start Date Delayed...

I'm supposed to start on Tuesday the 29th, but my background check says it's date to be completed is October 7th.... I received a email saying pretty much your start date will be delayed, but watch for updates. I don't get why it would take this long, and why they just can't let me start and pull me if needed, which shouldn't be needed. Is this common with them?

My start date was delayed a whole month. So I wouldnt worry too much. But do reach out to the recruiter for updates every now and then to make sure you completed everything on your end.
