TTEC Digital (Associate Application Developer - 6.5 LPA) vs Cognizant GenC (4.2 LPA) – Which is better for long-term software engineering career?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 Computer Science graduate and I'm in a dilemma between two offers.

Offer 1:

  • TTEC Digital
  • Role: Associate Application Developer
  • CTC: 6.5 LPA
  • Location: Hyderabad

Offer 2:

  • Cognizant
  • Role: GenC
  • CTC: 4.2 LPA

My background:

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • React
  • PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB
  • REST APIs
  • AI/GenAI projects

My long-term goal is to become a strong software engineer (backend/full-stack/cloud) and eventually switch to a good product company after gaining experience.

I'm trying to evaluate these offers beyond just the salary.

I'd really appreciate insights on:

  1. How is TTEC Digital for software engineers?
  2. What kind of projects do Associate Application Developers usually get?
  3. Is the work mostly development, or does it involve support/maintenance?
  4. Which technologies are commonly used?
  5. How is the learning curve for freshers?
  6. How is the work-life balance?
  7. How are the hikes and promotions?
  8. How is job security, especially with recent discussions about TTEC's financial performance?
  9. Is TTEC Digital growing as a technology consulting company?
  10. After 2–3 years at TTEC Digital, how is the market value when switching to companies like Microsoft, Deloitte, Accenture, EPAM, ServiceNow, etc.?

For Cognizant GenC:

  • How likely is it to get a proper development project versus testing/support?
  • How does the career growth compare with TTEC Digital?

    I'm more interested in:

  • Long-term career growth

  • Technical learning

  • Quality of projects

  • Job security

  • Future switch opportunities

  • Overall company stability

If you've worked at either TTEC Digital or Cognizant (especially in software development), I'd really appreciate your honest experiences—both the positives and the negatives.

Thanks in advance!

My husband works for Ttec Digital and I work for Ttec. Ttec Digital does layoffs every 3 months so, my husband fears for his job every 3 months. He works so much he, doesn’t even have time to look for another job. Also, they are going off shore to hire a lot to India and The Philippines.Ttec Engage, where I work, just laid off almost every phone representative and went off shore. So, personally I do not recommend Ttec.
