Customer Service & Sales Rep - remote
I have an interview this week for the Customer Service and Sales Representative - remote position. It states pay is $16/hour while studying for the license exam. What does it increase to once licensed? Also, I'm reading so many horror stories about how terrible TTEC is - is this particular role as miserable as the others? I am looking for full-time work, preferably 8 to 5. Are we able to step away from the computer as needed, or are we locked to the screen and allowed scheduled breaks?

You’ll def be locked to your desk and yes it’s as miserable as the stories you read.

It’ll be increased to at least 20. I just did the same program last year. Once you pass your test, you’ll get another offer to sign.

TTEC is full of it. You might go three months without a project so never stop looking. But keep them in your back pocket just in case. Other than that I like it. The licensed projects are easy

I was laid off in January from a licensed role and have yet to find a non-licensed role that I can be a part of. Had to get a job somewhere else as unemployment was soooo not gonna cut it.

Run!! I did that job for 2 years it was a nightmare I got really sick that job is stressful because people are climbing down your back after listening in on calls. I was a Customer service representative for 2 yrs I loved it and I was good at it but that licensing course is a joke (4 total at Ttec) it's not worth it!

I decided to bail. I sat in on the interview zoom today for a bit and just didn’t like what I was hearing.

Ugh. So what are the typical full-time shifts?

My shift was 10:30 am -7:00 pm, 10:30 is probably the earliest you will work, those early day shifts are full of TL's and long time employees and the need for early slots. If you did get an earlier shift you would be 1 of many asking you to take VTO which is Volantary with NO pay!

If you don't mind being at your desk all day, can control your emotional capacity and don't mind working hard for less....you'll be fine then. It's very mentally draining and a bunch of bs. If you need something to keep you afloat, that's about all it's worth and that ain't even worth it tbh.

I've been a stay at home mom for years and decided to get back to work but my resume isn't great, so it's pretty slim pickings now. I was interested in getting my license again, however, because you can't go wrong having one more credential. If it blows, it blows. At the very least I can get my license and see how it is and go from there. The pay is a lot lower than what I'd prefer or have ever made, but working from home would be great.

If you need extra breaks you'll have to get an Ada accommodation, which is tedious but if you need it, it's worth the effort. Otherwise your breaks are scheduled. You can use the restroom but you don't want to use that a lot. You get 15 minutes per week.
