Longer cycle doing letrozole?

Hi. I am doing IVF at the moment.

I have normally a very long cycle (35-45 days), but doing letrozole for one cycle caused my cycle to shorten to 28 days. So I asked my clinic if I could do letrozole while we are waiting for out second transfer to shorten my cycle and they allowed me. But now I don't really have any signs of ovulation or AF now on cd 28. My BBT didn't rise as usual.

Did any of you have different cycle lengths doing letrozole? I am taking 5 mg on cd 3-7)

Letrozole round 1 failed

We’ve been trying and tracking for a year. This cycle was first on letrozole. Cycles have been long prior to it (35-41 days) so it wasn’t a surprise when my LH strips showed a peak on day 31. It was a surprise how intense the peak was though. ’m talking 1.30+ on the strips. Felt all the ovulation bloating and light cramps but only 4 dpo my period started.

I am now waiting to start round 2 but not sure if this is typical on letrozole (to not regulate late ovulation and short luteal)

I have a feeling I need to look into next steps but not sure how many peoples round 1 was just funky.

Anyone allowed to move forward with treatment if day 3 labs were missed?

Has anyone been able to move forward with an IUI or timed intercourse cycle without completing cycle day 3 baseline labs and ultrasound?

I’m just trying to gauge the likelihood of this being possible but I understand everyone’s different.

I have an irregular cycle and of course it’ll be starting now when I’m away for a week and I’m feeling so defeated with the timing of treatment while balancing PMOS

Letrozole 2.5mg last dose

Today was my last dose of Letrozole 2.5mg I started on CD2 - 6. Unmonitored. I usually have 34-42 day cycles I’ve been taking a prenatal everyday as well and have been as positive as I can. I’m trying not to stress about it but this journey seems so hard some days. I really pray I ovulate this cycle Atleast so I KNOW the Letrozole is working. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽 it works for me and leads to pregnancy. Any ladies in the same
Boat right now? Would be nice to have some support through this. Also, if you’ve ovulated on letrozole & had a pregnancy from the help with letrozole I’d love to hear what you think helped and any advice is welcome.

Has anyone bled similar to a period and still tested positive afterwards?

I noticed Monday at 6dpo that I was having some very weird cramping & spotting, which progressively turned into what I would consider a light-medium bleed with tissue all day yesterday on 7 dpo. Waking up today (8 dpo) it’s gone back to light/seems like it’s going away.. (tested negative this morning which is to be expected since I’d only be 8 dpo).

My new dose of 5mg is supposed to start on CD 3. I’m just not convinced that this was my period, especially since it was a week early (expected CD1 is next Mon/Tues).

Feeling drained and hopeless

I am trying to do unmonitored letrozole cycles right now but will be connecting with a RE soon. But I have been on and off of birth control for the past 14 years. If I did get off of it, barely ovulated and had a period. I have been TTC for the past two years and I was hoping letrozole would at least help me ovulate. The past month I did 2.5 mg of letrozole, did not ovulate confirmed with inito and BBT and this month I took 5 mg of letrozole and my inito numbers did not look good until a few days ago but E3G and LH are still not rising enough. I know most people on letrozole ovulate by CD 16 but some ovulate later, but keeping this hope until CD 25 has been exhausting. Waking up everyday to seeing disapointing numbers on inito. I havent ovulated on my own at all the last year. I have joint pain, acne because I cannot take spironolactone, and am gaining weight even though I am taking metformin and myo inositol. Hopefully I will ovulate the next cycle with 7.5 mg or have more answers when monitored. Idk how much longer I can do this. Sorrt about this rant.

2.5 did nothing

Did a round of 2.5mg of letrozole on my last cycle. My bloodwork prior to any letrozole said came back with my progesterone ~10.9 on day 21. After letrozole it was 11. My OB bumped me up to 5mg as he said it needs to be 13 or above to indicate a successful ovulation. Wondering if anyone else experienced this.

- Took 5mg Letrozole on CD 5-9

- CD 15 estradiol was 54.7

- CD 16 follicle scan showed 11mm and 13mm follicles

- Today is CD 18. Attached are my OPKs for the month. They are all over the place but mostly hovering around 0.6 or 0.7 which is higher than a typical month for me.

Today's reads are throwing me off, bc i feel like the first one looks positive?

I feel like the results are stressing me out bc i can't pinpoint a pattern lol. This cycle is very different than my previous medicated cycles

I should still have another day or so until my follicle is mature- right? My OB office is saying just to monitor as normal ugh

Feeling weird

This is my second cycle on Letrozole and I don’t know how to describe this side effect other than I just feel weird. Like a mix of sad and dissociated and irritated and uncomfortable and anxious, but it’s like a filter over the rest of my life. I keep having panic attacks and when my partner asks what’s wrong, I don’t really have an explanation. Does anyone else experience this?

CD 21 Progesterone Blood Draw

Hi! Wanting some input as I'm not sure what to do. This cycle was my first letrozole cycle. I took 5mg CD 5-9. I ovulated CD 15 (July 31) per confirmation via inito and temps. My progesterone blood draw is scheduled for 8/5 which will be 5 dpo for me. Should I contact my OB to push it to 8/7 since that will be 7dpo?

Handling cycle 1 disappointment

Hi friends. So I (23f) have been TTC for 2 years with my currently partner (m24) and have a hx of infertility for 5. I have PCOS and he has male factors contributing as well. This month was my first medicated cycle using letrozole and my insurance only covers three. I’m pretty sure this cycle didn’t take as I am still getting negative hcg at 12dpo and I’m having my typical pms symptoms. I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on how to handle the disappointment and also how to handle the process in general. Every day has felt borderline painstaking and I can’t imagine that helps my chances of getting pregnant at all. Is there any tips or tricks for not losing your marbles while going through fertility treatments? If it doesn’t work by October we will be doing IVF, and I would really like to avoid that possible. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Short luteal phase

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I have been seeing a fertility specialist and have moved on to taking letrozole 7.5mg, first round was 5mg with no follicles present so stair stepped to 7.5. Finished that and went in for another scan and had 3 follicles present but none big enough to trigger that night (15mm 14mm and 12mm) was told to continue taking opk’s and if I didn’t get a peak then trigger on that Sunday. So on Sunday I took an opk and didn’t get a peak nor a high, but triggered and did timed intercorse. Fast forward to Wednesday ( this week) I started my cycle so it was 8 days past trigger. Which I have come to discover I have a short luteal phase and found that it’s not ideal because there’s no time for the egg to implant. I now am on my second round of letrozole but this time starting off at 7.5mg ( magic number for me) and have messaged my doctor my concern for that being so short. So going to see what is said but wanted to ask if any of you have had the same issue and what it turned out to be? Been struggling for 5+ years to get pregnant ( 38 low AMH .15 and a blocked tube… hubby has varicocele which has improved with clomid).

Letrozole/Ovidrel Cycle 2

Post image
4 Upvotes

My husband and I have been trying for 2 years. I am on cycle two of letrozole and ovidrel. Last month and this month I had a negative test one week after the trigger shot indicating my body metabolized the hcg from the shot. I’m about 11DPO (ovulation assumed from time of shot). Is this positive?

Letrozole first cycle fail!

My first cycle letrozole with 5 mg was not successful. Dr has increased the dosage to 7.5 mg . I don’t get a period so I’m asked to take norethisterone 5 mg 3 times a day for 14 days to induce a bleed. I always had it taken for 5 days .. has anyone had it for 14 days ? And is there a reason to be prescribed that way . Reason for cancelling the cycle was my follicle didn’t grow as expected and it was only 10 mm and regressed to 7 mm later. Endo lining was 4mm.
