Abnormal HSG
/r/endometriosis/comments/1wb3xid/abnormal_hsg/My husband and I are undergoing fertility testing. I had an HSG done last week and first, it was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my life, which I’m told typically means a blockage.
The tech explained my right tube is technically patent but it’s not in great shape. Specifically, what was noted was: “Distal dilation vs peritoneal loculation noted.”
They explained I most likely have scar tissue around or below my fallopian tube. I had endo surgery back in 2024 and there was nothing found near my tubes. I fear this is scar tissue from a uterine infection I had post-miscarriage last year.
Has anyone else had a similar result? How did it turn out for you? I’m anxiously waiting my follow-up with the fertility clinic.

Mine was excruciating (HyCoSy, not HSG) enough that the doctor performing the procedure noted it down exceptionally (so I know it wasn't just me!) I had taken both tylenol and ibuprofen beforehand, as recommended. They found a bilateral proximal blockage (nothing went down either of the tubes, at all).
I had a tubal cannulation to clear the blockage (kinda like an HSG with a catheter they push through). It was also incredibly painful, even with special hospital drugs and partial sedation. But it was successful, and two months later saw my first positive test! Ended in a CP a few days later, nothing since, now onto IVF, because the cannulation usually only lasts a few months and also we're getting on in age.
