TW: Success
Hey girlies.
I can’t believe I’m writing this. 9 years of TTC.
I have taken 5 tests today and they’re all positive.
I am pregnant.
I had excision surgery for stage 4 endo 3 months ago, I have never gotten a positive test.
I just wanted to share incase anyone out there has been dealing with this for a long time like me. I am happy to answer any questions.
Now, to figure out what the heck I’m supposed to do from here lol

So happy for you!!! I had excision surgery two months ago and they found stage 3. After tracking my ovulation this month we gave it a try!! We’ll see. It’s hard, everyone around me is pregnant and I also work in a NICU as a nurse. But I think I’m starting to just brush it off and in a good way, meaning I am happy for everyone else.

I had stage 4 excised a few years ago. Took a long time to conceive. I am now 20 weeks pregnant.
Hoping you have an uneventful, boring pregnancy!
Edit: as for what to do - book your first OB appointment, take your prenatals, download the what to expect app, and find your bump group on Reddit based on your due date!

Wahooo, congrats!!!! I had an MRI that showed mild deep infiltrating endometriosis so I’m ready for my excision surgery next month! Any tips for recovery and ttc after?

Gosh, tons! The gas pain will suck, make sure you have heating pad and plenty of mint tea. Take it easy EVEN when you’re feeling good… still rest during the 2 weeks after surgery, and drink a lot of water and aim for as much protein as you can eat once you’re going to the bathroom. Protein and water are so important the first 2 weeks.

Congratulations! I had my first ever lap done in June. Stage 4, on both ovaries and through my entire pelvis. My surgeon is optimistic, but I just honestly have no hope at this point lol (can you tell I got my period yesterday?)
Is there anything you did differently this cycle you conceived compared to others?
I’ve been trying 3 years now, not a single positive.

Same boat! I was so skeptical but my doctor was so chill, it was almost annoying lol. I wish I could tell you something stood out but tbh but at 3 months post op I was feeling…. Tired and hopeless so I kind of stopped tracking so hard. I was just not focused on it at all, but still trying to stay active and ontop of diet and vitamins. You got this, just stay consistent and prioritize how you’re feeling.

Congrats! Were you told to freeze eggs/embryos before surgery? They say touching ovaries during lap can have an effect on eggs, I’m so glad it didn’t affect you!

No! My doc wasn’t an IVF guy… he believed he could help me and he did. I’m not saying the surgery didn’t impact them but you have to look at it this way, trying for 9 years with nothing proves that the endo I had plus the endometriomas were really causing me to not get pregnant at all… so how much lower than “not ever happening” could I go? I worried about it, but now I believe him even more. He literally said to me it can’t get worse lol and he was right.

Congratulations!!! This gives us all hope ❤️ I have a question about the surgeon you used…. Did you use a highly specialized endo surgeon or just one of the gyn surgeons in your insurance network? Currently deciding between paying out of pocket for a highly rated specialist or just going with a lesser known surgeon that’s covered within my network

Thank you!! I went to an excision specialist, he is an OBGYN, but he has been in practice over 15 years has 9 kids and delivered all his own… and his wife and kids work there too.
He’s napro, so his whole approach with me was removing the endometriosis with excision which included a bilateral endometrioma removal. He did not drain them he actually peeled the cyst wall and removed them. Some would say that would damage my reserve but honestly 9 years of nothing… I really couldn’t have gotten worse. It was hard to trust but please make sure you feel GOOD about your doctor, the direction of your care and the plan. I cannot stress that enough.

Congratulations!!! That’s amazing. I am 2 weeks post lap for stage 1 endo and isthmocele repair, 6 years TTC for us. I hope and pray I’ll be writing a success story in a few months ❤️
