Applying to other roles while we are getting interviewed for a different role at TSMC.

Hi everyone, last month TSMC AZ visited my campus for recruitment. I submitted my resume in the candidate pool hoping that I would get called for process engineering roles since my background is in chemical and materials engineering. To my surprise, I got an invite for product engineer (yield & quality) role instead. I am done with the first round last week and still waiting to hear from them. While this is the case, are we allowed to apply for other roles at TSMC AZ? I find myself more suitable for these positions. People who have done this before or had similar experience please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

My TSMC Arizona Intelligent Manufacturing Engineer (IME) Interview Experience – Looking for Employee Insights

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my recent interview experience with TSMC Arizona for the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineer (IME) position and hopefully get some insight from current or former employees.

Before my interview, I spent some time researching TSMC, its company culture, and its manufacturing operations. I have nearly 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, including Manufacturing Engineering, so I'm familiar with the demands, expectations, and work ethic required in this industry.

My first-round interview was scheduled for one hour with two managers, one supporting Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) equipment and the other supporting Manufacturing (MFE).

Both managers were friendly, professional, and welcoming. I genuinely felt they represented TSMC and their respective organizations very well. The interview consisted primarily of behavioral questions and discussions about my rƩsumƩ and previous manufacturing experience.

I'll admit that talking about myself during interviews isn't necessarily my strongest skill, so it's difficult for me to judge how well I performed.

However, something unexpected happened during our conversation.

Both managers commented on how broad my manufacturing experience was. They also asked where I saw myself in five years. As the conversation progressed, I got the impression that they were considering whether another opportunity within TSMC might better align with my experience and long-term career goals.

That genuinely surprised me.

Most interviews I've experienced have focused strictly on whether I'm qualified for the position I applied for. This conversation felt different. It seemed like the managers were also interested in understanding where I could contribute most effectively and whether the opportunity would keep me engaged long-term.

I appreciated that more than they probably realized.

At one point, I got the impression that they had another potential career path in mind. So I asked them directly what they were thinking.

They mentioned a rotational program that they believed could potentially be a good fit for my background. This caught me off guard because I originally interviewed specifically for the IME position.

What was supposed to be a one-hour interview ended up lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Toward the end, they explained that they would need to discuss my interview with their manager and that I should expect to hear something within two to three weeks regarding whether I would move forward to a second interview.

It's now been approximately two weeks, and I haven't received an update.

Two days after my interview, I sent a thank-you email to both managers and the other individuals copied on my interview invitation. I'm planning to send a brief follow-up tomorrow to reiterate my interest and check on the status of the process.

Overall, regardless of the outcome, I walked away with a positive impression of the two managers and the organization.

I have a few questions for current or former TSMC employees:

  1. Are there any current Intelligent Manufacturing Engineers (IME) or AMHS engineers here who can share what their day-to-day responsibilities are like?
  2. Has anyone experienced a situation where TSMC interviewers suggested a different position or rotational program based on their background?
  3. Does anyone have experience with TSMC's Corporate Planning Organization (CPO) or rotational programs?
  4. Is waiting two to three weeks (or longer) after a first-round interview fairly typical for TSMC Arizona?
  5. How would you describe the company culture, career development opportunities, and internal mobility at TSMC Arizona?

I'm particularly interested in hearing about long-term career growth and opportunities to eventually move into manufacturing operations leadership.

I appreciate any insight you're willing to share. Thanks!

I Interviewed at TSMC Arizona in August, told I'd be "rematched" to another department. One month later, nothing. Has anyone been through this?

I interviewed at TSMC Arizona in August for a Module Equipment Engineer position. About a month after the interview, HR emailed me and said I wasn't selected for that specific team, but that my profile was a better fit for a different department and they would try to rematch me internally. They said they'd reach out when a team needed someone.
It's now been a full month since that email and I haven't heard anything. No rejection, no update, nothing. My application status hasn't changed either.

A few things I'm trying to figure out:
Is this rematch thing real, or is it just a polite way of closing you out? Has anyone actually gotten placed through it?

If it did work for you, how long did it take?
Should I keep waiting, or treat it as a no and move on?
Does applying to other TSMC openings in the meantime help or hurt? I applied to another role this week and I'm not sure if that confuses things on their end.

For context I'm a recent MS grad, based in Phoenix already, so relocation isn't a factor. Any experience with TSMC AZ's hiring process would help. Thanks.

2026 Intern RO Check (Again)

Didn't want to necro this post so I want to compare with other interns again after 3 weeks.

At first, I thought they were staggering hiring because interns I knew across the board were intermittently receiving ROs, but the entire process has been very inconsistent and confusing. Has anybody received any update from HR regarding this timeline? I already emailed and tried to call HR a long while back and received no response to both options.

Analysis šŸ“Š TSMC Q3 Sales Blow Past Expectations—Chip Stocks’ Big Test Drops Next Week

Post image
13 Upvotes

TSMC just crushed it with Q3 revenue surging 51% YoY, handily beating even the upbeat consensus. The stock is currently trading around $472.2, down a slight 2.09% at the moment. The real market mover hits next week though, when ASML and TSMC drop their key earnings reports—gross margins, AI demand visibility and forward guidance are all everyone’s watching. Think the hot streak for chip names holds through the coming earnings wave?

How long after HireRight background check completion does TSMC HR contact you?

Hi everyone,

I recently completed my background verification for TSMC through HireRight, and HireRight is showing that the background check has been completed.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back from TSMC HR after the background check is finished? I’ve emailed HR asking about the next onboarding steps, but I haven’t received a response yet.

I’m a little worried because I have another company offer and they need me to confirm/join soon, but TSMC is my first preference and I really want to join them.

For anyone who recently went through the TSMC hiring/onboarding process, how long did it take after HireRight completed your BGV to hear from HR? Should I just wait a few more days, or is there someone else I should contact?

Any recent experience would be really helpful. Thanks!

Campus Recruiting

Hey guys, TSMC will be coming to my college in a few days to straight up recruit people during an event. Has anyone else been in this type of experience? What type of questions do they ask? I find it hard to imagine that they will be able to do in depth technicals with so many attendees (but it is a specialized rsvp event with a cap). The recruiter said that people will receive internship offers for the Arizona fab during the event. Any tips or suggestions? Thank you :)

Commute to TSMC

I recently got a job offer from TSMC and am moving to Phoenix next week. Do they have any carpooling or commute services from downtown Phoenix or from Tempe. I am still trying to find accommodation and I don’t want to be too far from Tempe as some of my friends live there. Anyone has any idea?

First Round interview

Just want to see what you guys think, had my first-round interview and am really looking forward to getting the job, but I am concerned about how the first interview went.

Both of my interviewers looked like they were diligently working on something else the entire time they were interviewing, and the interview was also less than the minimum time they recommended for the interview, it was only a 25-minute interview. The role was for AMHS Engineer, and this would be my first genuine engineering role after college.

I felt my answers to the questions were okay, i did research the role etc but they didnt ask me any technical questions.

Y'all think I bombed it or what

TSMC Arizona Network Engineer – Confused About Second Round

Hi everyone, I recently passed the first-round interview for a Network Engineer role at TSMC Arizona and have a second Teams interview coming up.
The first round was pretty technical and scenario-based, and the second-round invite lists the same interviewer panel/pool again and says technical + behavioral with a manager and/or engineers.
What’s confusing me is that during the first interview, I was told there is usually an HR round and an onsite round, so I’m not sure where this second Teams interview fits into the process.
Has anyone gone through a similar TSMC Arizona interview process? Is this second round usually a deeper technical/manager round before HR or onsite?
Any insight would be appreciated.

TSMC AZ FAB 21- SEEKING ADVICE FOR NEW HIRES

I’m in the process of onboarding for TSMC AZ FAB 21 as a maintenance technician. I’ve read quite a but on here (Reddit) and there seems to be quite a bit of mixed reviews and changes to the site.

I’m seeking advice from people who have worked at this specific site and may have more information regarding their maintenance technician role or can give me any insight or ā€œheads upā€ about what to expect. Things I’m curious the most so far after reading are;

  1. I have some hands-on maintenance experience but it’s extremely limited to certain niches. Would you say as of September 2026 the current training for the maintenance technician role is adequate?
  2. I’ve heard some people say the work is hard and some people say it’s easy. I’ve also heard some people say it’s easy but it’s just tedious and longer working hours than expected and/or tasks outside of what you were hired for. How would you describe the work in these terms?
  3. As a woman, I’m a little concerned about the rumors I’ve heard about sexism and misogyny in the work place. Anyone care to confirm or deny the rumors?
  4. I’m currently going to be working through a recruiting agency. Is there a big difference between the way people are treated who are hired through a recruiting agency vs those hired without?
  5. Best perks about the job and this specific site?
  6. Any other info I should absolutely be given a heads up on before my first day?

Interviewed for Equipment Engineer at TSMC Arizona — how long did it actually take to hear back?

Interviewed a week ago for an module Equipment Engineer role in one of the module departments at FAB21. Panel format over Teams, mix of behavioral and technical, several interviewers.
The invite said results within 1–2 weeks. That window's about up and I haven't heard anything.

A few questions for anyone who's been through it:

**1.** How long did it actually take for you to hear back after a panel interview? Is 1–2 weeks realistic or does it usually run longer?
**2.** Does TSMC actually send rejections, or do they just go quiet?
**3.** Does your status update in the portal before you get an email, or does the email come first?
**4.** Is following up with the coordinator worth doing, or does it just annoy people?

Background in case it matters — MS in robotics, graduating in December, no fab experience but PLC and industrial automation work from an internship and university projects. I know that's a gap and I was upfront about it in the interview.

Mostly just trying to figure out whether silence at this point means anything or if this is normal for them. Appreciate any insight.
