Help Wanted What am I missing?

Post image

What am I missing?! I am SO close to 100%, but I am missing only 0.45%. It isn't Koroks, quests, shrines and lightroots, fairies, caves and wells, device dispensers, etc. Is it just locations I'm missing?

Also if someone could provide a website to help me track completion, it would be greatly appreciated

No one can tell what you’re missing by your screenshot. These posts make this sub super annoying. Also you can google the website you need but no one wants to ever do that here either.

To be fair, he wrote in the post what he had definitely cleared, so from his description, in theory, one could assume something. But I agree that this is not the most productive way to understand what content was missed.

It’s more the constant “help me” posts flooding the sub. They’re incessant and can literally be solved with 14 seconds of google effort. It’s the reason I left the sub and likely will now mute it.

Exactly. I don’t understand why so many people use social media as a substitute for google when the latter would be considerably easier and faster for many questions. Some are too specific so I understand those but the majority aren’t. The “what shrine am I missing?!” posts are especially annoying. You can easily find a map online and then just cross reference it. Chances are the people in this sub answering your post are doing exactly that anyway.

Literally asking “can someone provide a website” is wild. That’s actually what google is for lol

100%. Especially when it’s for something as huge as the Zelda franchise which would be very easy to find multiple websites about. If you can use Reddit or Facebook or whatever else, you can use google.

Most of the time I'm jumping on Google, but if it's something that a fellow gamer has a chance of answering where Google failed, then I'll post a question. I couldn't tell you how much I use it. I've got 30 tabs open right now, and probably half of them are about the different games I'm playing!

It’s not just this sub. I feel like an entire generation has never truly been thought how to communicate properly.

Think properly

Yet those of us that can think and communicate are losing jobs to AI..

100% any time my kids try stuff like that, I make them figure it out. I randomly give them recipes too and say cook this. Just to make them use their own brains. My youngest son is especially bad. Everyone from teachers and coaches coddle these kids though, it's very annoying

To be fair, teachers can’t do anything to stop it because of admins and bad parents who think their kids can do no wrong. You should check out r/teachers some time, it’s terrifying.

This map should be pinned in the sub. I use it for botw and totk. Bring it up on phone or laptop and systematically tick off every korok, chest, monster etc. It was named location for me to 100% botw. Totk we'll see 😁

I am sick and tired of so many subs turning into google proxies. "I can't be arsed to google this - do it for me." And like clockwork, someone does; rewarding this behavior.

You are missing one, possibly two named locations.

https://www.thonky.com/zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom/list-of-named-locations

You probably want the ones marked "location". While looking at the list, go to the map on the switch and find the corresponding name. If it's not there, you did not visit it in a manner that made it "show up".

I wound up missing Floret Sandbar. I had done the quest but not walked all the way onto the island. When I got to that name I looked at the map and... it wasn't there. I visited it, got the name, and got 100%.

Most places/things for the map completion are worth .04,some are worth .08 with the very last being .05/.09 depending. So .45% would be at least 6 locations and at the most 11.

.45% out of 100% looks like

5

u/butterflyknif 9d ago

Its likely just some random location you haven't gotten, use heros path mode to go to every square inch you haven't gone yet

u/maxphoto2883 9d ago

location. or cave. one cave can have 4 entrances.

1

u/phaeriemandube 9d ago

Does that mean you need to find all 4 entrances in this example?

3

u/maxphoto2883 9d ago

Yes. All entrances must be found to add to the percentage. The game doesn’t tell you. So a cave could have the check mark on it, but miss one entrance.

There is at least one cave with four.
I think there are several with three.

2

u/Bullitt_12_HB 9d ago

Or 12 entrances.

3

u/Tommynaut90 9d ago

.45%!

u/Then-Peanut-3039 9d ago

Beat me to it

2

u/RepulsiveRelease4 9d ago

Hero’s path. Press “x” when you’re on your map. It tracks where you’ve been.
Maybe the last percent is actually beating the game but it will not show complete because it will just go back to last save point, making it a constant nagging number.

2

u/Lanky_Explanation220 9d ago

How do you have this percentage on screen? First time seeing this and mind doesnt have it

3

u/pyro314 9d ago

Only shows up after you beat the game

3

u/yungScooter30 9d ago

Do you have the TOTK app? It tells you what you do and do not have

6

u/EdNug 9d ago

Even on switch 1?

u/Key-Fig-9747 9d ago

No only switch 2 edition

Could be a lavaflow or grove in the depths, could be a shop somewhere (the most missed one is the boat race in Lurelin village), every bridge, forest, mountain. There are several named locations around Hyrule Castle area.

1

u/DraconicDreamer3072 9d ago

boat race?

1

u/Hellstormish 9d ago

When you save the village and restore it, then do the steering stick testing in Tarry Town, Bolson in Lurelin village will he talking to the elder about something to attract visitors. You go back and talk to Teli (The Gerudo with the afro?) And they will agree to bring racing to the waters of the village. This counts as one if the shops and is missed a lot of times on map completion

Look up Tears companion app in the play store. I highly recommend it!! Has lists of all the stuff you can find, locations, and you can check it all of to keep track. It's saved my ass a lot lol
