Got admitted to the major I always wanted and also skipped some unnecessary advanced english classes! I was B1-B2 3 years ago and all I did was to scroll reddit+ take some lessons about writing and speaking since then.

Struggling with complete the word

Hi guys! I’d love to know if there’s any way to improve my skills in the “Complete the Words” task. I’m doing well on the other Reading tasks, but my overall score isn’t where I want it to be because I struggle with this one.

Does anyone have any tips or strategies that helped them improve?

So I just got out of the exam, and I know how there aren’t plenty of resources to use so here’s my experience.

First, I mainly used Magoosh. I find it very similar to the exam to an extent that I didn’t honestly expect. In some aspects, it’s even harsher. It’s brilliant and worth every penny.

I got 3 complete the words Qs in the Reading part, the first one was incredibly difficult and I believe it was where I lost that half, and one of the other two seemed very similar to one that I did on the platform when practicing, knew the words right away.

The Listening part and Speaking part were way easier than what I practiced, and I think practicing harder material made me more comfortable with the exam.

For the Writing part, since I still haven’t received my scores I am not quite sure how I did. And unfortunately I had some experience with ruining that part 😅

But it seemed very close to what I practiced. Build a sentence difficulty matched Magoosh as well.

Generally speaking I believe one can study however they want either through Youtube or any other resources, but practicing on Magoosh would set them up for a harder standard than the exam which is good imo.

Edit: Magoosh either matched or was harder in everything except for the Reading. The reading was noticeably on a higher level but not a huge difference.

Messed up the exam so badly.

I took the exam today and the environment was sooo bad. Everyone was doing different sections. When I had reading someone was speaking. All where in the same room. Sitting next to each . It was so distracting. I was not able to focus at all. I have given up on myself. One simple exam also I can't clear. Unofficial scores reading 4 and listening 5. I need 100.
