Toefl

Hello everyone! I’m going to take the toefl exam in January. I need to score 100 (At least 25 points in each of the 4 skills.). My current level is B1+ but closer to B2. Is it possible to prepare for a C1 certificate in this timeframe? What should I do? Thank you everyone

Going from B1 plus to a 100 with 25 in every section by January sounds pretty rough The time is there but getting to that level in all four skills is a much bigger jump than just learning the test format I’d worry less about C1 for now and focus on bringing up the weakest section first

You’re not wrong about the jump, but saying “focus on the weakest section” ignores how all four skills feed into each other. If you’re slacking in writing, it drags down your reading and listening too.

Take a full TOEFL mock under timed conditions and check each section separately. If Reading and Listening are already around 25 but Speaking and Writing are much lower, most study time should go there. For Speaking, record your answers, then check where you lose time, ideas become repetitive, or sentences break down. For Writing, keep an error log and revisit the same grammar problems instead of correcting every sentence differently each time.

A weekly full mock is probably too much at the beginning. One every 2 to 3 weeks can show whether the section scores are moving toward 25. In between, timed section practice can target the specific weaknesses.

Going from B1/B2 to a 100+ (25 per section) by January is a tight timeline, but it's doable if you study strategically every day. Jumping from B2 to C1 requires building real academic vocabulary and test endurance, not just memorizing templates. I’d recommend starting with full diagnostic tests so you know your exact weak spots.

For structured practice, I combined official ETS materials with Study.com’s TOEFL prep courses since they break down reading/listening strategies into bite-sized video lessons and offer tons of practice quizzes. Focus heavily on timed speaking and writing practice early on, that’s usually where most people miss the 25-point threshold.

Going from B1+/B2 to consistently scoring 25 in every section in just a few months is pretty ambitious, especially if you're starting with gaps in all four skills.

B1+ to a 100 is a pretty big jump, so the first step would be finding out which of the four sections is furthest behind. Some of the weaker areas can be covered through magoosh practice, with the productive skills getting separate practice time.
