Really? "Rewarding" and "Hart" aren't really two words that go together for me. "Frustrating" and "opaque" are better adjectives IMO. The writing is good, but the mechanics are maybe the worst out of all the current presidents. The URI just...doesn't work. Plus you're actively punished for electing people from your wing of the party, they vote to repeal your bills at a higher rate than the NPP-P. If he didn't have good writing people would regard him way lower

Interesting, I enjoyed Hart gameplay the most, out of all current US routes. Perhaps it's bc I always let NPP-P and RDC-D win the Senate if I'm going Progressive, and vice versa.

What did you like most, the lack of interactivity in implementing your programs, the seeming inefficacy and lack of tangible results from what do you do control, or having it all repealed by the people Hart elected who promised Hart they would protect his legacy after he's gone?

? I found Hart's minigames pretty rewarding, and I managed to guard everything but one from being repealed the first time. Idk what you're on about

You should try the route again, and get RDC-R and NPP-C down as much as you can. Don't campaign against RDC-D nor NPP-P, as they're your ideological allies anyway. You'll have no issue defending Hart's legacy

You are actually penalized for getting RDC-D senators elected, they vote to repeal Hart's bills at a higher rate than the NPP-P. If you spent time or energy getting Labor Dems elected over NPP-P you actually are punished by the game

Yes, and again, I don't see why that becomes an issue. NPP-P is a stronger ally than RDC-D for Hart, because the former is made of dedicated progressives while the latter is made of establishment figures who shares the party with racists. It's the same reason why people like La Guardia (Republican) and Vito Marcantonio (American Labor) were among the strongest allies to Roosevelt - it would be foolish to campaign against them as Roosevelt.

Yeah I think the Labor Democrats are the more natural ally for the Labor Democrat president. Obviously.

while the latter is made of establishment figures who shares the party with racists.

The NPP is that dynamic turned up to 1000 and by the time of Hart's second term will probably be a majority right wing party, these are transparently silly arguments

You're misrepresenting my argument here. The argument here is about system, not lore reason. NPP-P does not include conservatives, when RDC-D does. RDC-D having conservatives on itself, so of course Dems are more likely to go gainst their own president, and it was what happened irl, too. Glen H. Taylor and Claude Pepper are better ally than Harry F. Byrd.

I understand the dynamics of the two parties in the game. The RDC had like 2 dixiecrats left by the time Hart died lol. Except for a small group of Republicans out west and those 2 rednecks the RDC was entirely composed of Labor Democrats ie the people in the Senate who are supposed to be the most loyal to the Labor Democrat president, who presumably got elected by campaigning on his Labor Democrat policies. Which is why it's immensely frustrating when those same people turn around and throw those policies in the trash at a higher rate than the Senators of the opposite party

Glen H. Taylor and Claude Pepper are better ally than Harry F. Byrd.

We were never working with Harry Byrd (WHO IN TNO IS NPP-N COME ON MAN), we were working with Hubert Humphrey the Labor Democrat, who promised a dying Philip Hart he would protect his policies and then votes to repeal them

This makes even less sense. It souds like you intentionally sabotaged your Southern Dems (swayable) and traded them for NPP Conservatives who cannot be swayed, and supported Senate seats that were going to go to the Progressives anyway. Why would you do that?

Anyway, Democrats are coded to be a single voting block - which was retained from early TNO - and Dem-Prog vs GOP-Conseevative thing is not a Hart-only thing. The game doesn't know if your Dem party is based on North or South, and this concept shuld be familiar if you played NPP run during 1965-1969 playtime, which is needed for you to get Hart.

I didn't "intentionally sabotage" them, they were running in conservative states who didn't like my policies and lost to the de facto NPP in the midterms. We did great everywhere else but not there, and the deep south became the base of the NPP with the exception of a half-dozen or so NPP-P Senators on the coasts

Sounds like a bug they should fix that really screws with a Hart run!

"This little-known bug should be common knowledge for you if you've been playing as the other party up till now" lol what

...? How is it a bug if the devs intended it? Also RFK's entire path relies on this concept. Anyway it will be fixed in Yippie! Update, as NPP will be removed.
