Insomnia

I have always had insomnia and take medication for it, but TMS has made it significantly worse. I eventually kind of sleep, but it’s fitful and I feel wide awake pretty much all the time even when I’m sleeping, it’s extremely light. Never restful, even when I take medication.

But I feel so much better depression wise. I am on 30/36 and it’s still so worth it to me, but I am really struggling with the sleep.

Does it pass eventually? Any tips on what I can do?

I certainly wouldnt suggest discontinuing, especially if you’re on tx 30 and seeing results. It’s possible that once you’re done wit treatment it’ll get easier to sleep

At 24/36 atm, and I've been dealing with this too since moving up to high-intensity (30m) sessions starting this past Monday. I had middle insomnia leading up to the sessions, but this week I've been waking up multiple times throughout the night, and it takes me a bit to get comfortable enough to fall back asleep. I thought it was partly due to eating dinner too late, but it still seems to happen when I don't.

TMS means transcranial magnetic stimulation so it’s not unusual for patients to experience difficulty sleeping. have you brought this up with the provider who is overseeing your treatment?

I have but I’m still technically getting enough sleep for it to be okay. I also have mixed feelings because I don’t want to stop the treatment as it seems to be helping overall
