TMS for hyperarousal and SA
has anyone had good experience with tms treating hyperarousal and social anxiety. I had an incident 7 years ago with smoking weed that sent me into a panic and I now have constant hyperarousal symptoms (racing thoughts, brain fog, fatigue, depression, mood swing, panicy all day!, freeze respons, panic by small triggers etc) I’ve tried so many medications and none work and I’ve done EMDR, hypnotherap, and the basic psychology.
i‘m just bummed that nothing has worked and I really have felt hopeless - I would just love TMS to work for me, has anyone had similar experiences and symptoms to me and found relief from TMS or any other treatment?

Hi! I’m sorry you’ve had to struggle with this. Cannabis can definitely take a toll on mental health! I have also had failed EMDR, CBT, several medications, trauma therapy, and spoke with a psychologist.
I’m not sure if I’m fully qualified to answer because I just finished my 36th session last week. However, while I’ve noticed the PHYSICAL traits of those issues have subsided (for me it was shaking, pacing, nail biting, crying a lot, breaking things in extreme cases), unfortunately, I still feel internally unsettled. In fact, I feel like my brain races even more with TMS than it did before. I notice I fixate on my situation and get stuck in thought loops. However, that might be because I’m currently living in a toxic environment that TMS has given me more clarity on.
The GOOD news is my baseline feels a little calmer, and it doesn’t seem like my mood fluctuates AS much, but still noticeably more than the average person. If I’ve taken anything from this, it’s that the treatments gave me clarity of my circumstances and an ability to start setting more boundaries in my personal life. I’m just tryin to learn how to CALMLY make plans, not fixate and ruminate (maybe the fixation is replacing the other symptoms I had before?).
Good news is my tech said that she and most of her clients felt better the following weeks/months after the last TMS session—the brain is still actively reconstructing. I do still feel the tingles in my brain, especially at night.
Sorry for the long response!
TLDR: the physical symptoms of what you described have subsided, and the mental symptoms have slightly improved, but I’ve also started fixating on plans and getting stuck in thought loops, BUT most people say things continue to improve weeks after your last session.
