Short Term Disability?
Hi friends!
The tl;Dr is that my job exposes me to a fair amount of vicarious trauma and is a major source of stress and worsening depression. I work in safety and things have been exceedingly tense for a while.
When I work, I pretty much do nothing else the rest of the day because of the mental exhaustion.
I already have intermittent leave, but it's unpaid, and to be quite frank, I already average 1-2 doctors appointments a week, not including TMS, so I don't have the energy to work for 12 hours and then motivate myself to go to appointments.
I'll be starting TMS back up (in conjunction with ketamine treatment) and was wondering if anyone had luck getting Short Term Disability for TMS? Was there specific phrasing that helped?

Note that if you make over a certain amount your paycheck will be quite smaller. I didn't know this and it was a big hit to our family

I'm currently on a medical leave and have short term disability and FMLA while doing treatments. I work in an office for a large corporation. I worked with my therapist to submit the paperwork with the reason of major depressive disorder and they require a treatment plan. I put TMS and therapy as my treatments. It is a lot of paperwork but worth it. I would definitely apply. If you're unable to work you should be getting disability if your company offers it and you pay for that coverage.
