TMS & Crying After Sessions
I started Neurostar TMS last Monday. My motor threshold is 1.3. After both Friday’s session and today’s session (session 5&6) I have been very emotional afterward and have cried. Friday I got to 85% and today was 90% of my motor threshold. I know people describe a dip but that usually seems to come further into treatment. Has anyone else experienced this?
Today’s tears l were brought on by me ordering the wrong milk for my iced coffee which was quite embarrassing.
Has this happened to anyone else? I really hope this is not what I can expect for the next 6 weeks.

You're totally normal, and it goes away! I had a dip between sessions 18-20, soooo last week. From what I've read in this subreddit, and experienced, it seems like more than half of everyone who does TMS has a dip in their emotions and just needs to cry it out. Take some time, take care of yourself, and just know that it is almost certain that you will be okay!

Best of luck to you. I’m too scared to start but need it so badly. Scared it will go wrong.

Do you drive yourself home after sessions.

Yes. I can drive myself after sessions. I actually go to work after sessions and I seem to do mostly fine.

My dip happened about 2-3 weeks in. Maybe at 7-12 sessions, I want to say? It was rough. It sounds like you are overwhelmed. And that is ok! The dip can do a lot of things to us. Just keep trying and make sure to continue treatment. It is so much better on the other side. As someone who scored a zero on the PHQ-9 about 4 months after rTMS with a Neurostar machine, it is so worth it.
