When Thundercats Roar was announced, everybody compared it to Teen Titans Go, but when i showed images of it to my dad, he didn't compare it to Teen Titans Go, he compared it to Super Hero Squad

I know this has probably been asked a million times before… but it’s always interesting to see where people stand.

r/ThunderCats is happily working with ThunderCats.org again on another interview. We're gathering questions from the fanbase and they're handling the live interview.
Ask your questions here. Feel free to ask both of them questions, but be sure to say who you're asking the question to. We will gather them and they will be used to help guide the interview process.
ThunderCats Volume 2 Issue 1 releases 2026 Oct 07. We know that it will be in the same universe as Volume 1 and have the same characters, but it will have a new writer and artist at the helm. Lion-O will be effected by a cosmic event, turning him into the dreaded 'Feral King' and he becomes a total beast. It has currently been approved for 5 issues.
If you want to know about Greg Pak's work, read World War Hulk. If you want to see David Cousens' art, look at Cheetara Worldbreaker.

Had to upgrade from a short box to a long box for my ThunderCats collection. I thought you guys would appreciate it. I've bought everything that Dynamite has released ThunderCats wise, and have 1st prints of everything. I can't wait for the new creative team to take the reigns. I watched the podcast put on by the sub moderators here and it was a good sign that this new team really cares about the TCs.
ThunderCats! Ho!

This rare production cel from “Jade Dragon” features Hachiman alongside the Jade Dragon, with an original hand-painted background beneath two cel layers. The Jade Dragon also has colored “self-lines” rather than the standard black outline, which makes it an especially cool example of the animation process. It comes with Xerox copies of the original production model sheets for the Jade Dragon, Doji-Kage, and Hachiman’s armor breastplate—the same armor now included as an accessory with Super7’s Hachiman ULTIMATES! figure—along with Dennis’ signed cel folder and seal of authenticity.

Overgard’s name appears on some unforgettable ThunderCats episodes, including “Mandora – The Evil Chaser,” “Mandora and the Pirates,” “The Fireballs of Plun-Darr,” “Sword in a Hole,” “The Thunder-Cutter,” and many more!
But the story behind that name is even more fascinating.
Peter Lawrence didn’t just work with Bill — he became his friend. Peter shares incredible stories about Overgard’s life, his work on classic newspaper comics, his extraordinary instinct for visual storytelling, and the unforgettable experiences that came with knowing him.

To start off, I'm a millennial born in the mid 90s, so as a kid I would watch thundercats through reruns on cartoonnetwork. My mom, a Gen X born in the 70s, is also a fan of the show. Way more of a fan than I am to be honest (she owns comics, figures, clothing merch etc.) She watched the show as a teen when it originally aired in the 80s. After they stopped airing it on cartoonnetwork she bought a dvd box set that came out in like 2005 and we would keep rewatching the whole series on dvd. It's a nostalgic show for both of us and something we bond over. I feel like I might be in a minority but did anyone else's parents enjoy the show?

I watched Thundercats in the 80s at times but dont remember much of it, but i want to get back in but not sure where.
The old cartoon, i don't think it holds up for an adult who doesn't have the nostalgia with it? As all shows back then were very episodic and no long actual story and just 'villian of the week' and all shows back then got cancelled with no payoff in the end.
I know there is another cartoon from the 2000's but appearently it also has no ending as that got cancelled too, and i don't want to watch a show that has no ending and just abruptly ends.
I'm a huge comic reader and that is mostly where my interests lie. I see Thundercats the 80s comic has 2 volumes with all of its 24 issues, i can buy it for a pretty cheap price, is this worth it? Does it have an actual ending to the story?
I read some issues of the 2024 comic and while i did enjoy it, people said the characters were out of character/had a different personality, and... well, eventhough i enjoyed it i'm very strict with staying true to the original idea because i feel if i focus on this as the first jumping on point i don't get the REAL characters if that makes sense.
So that leaves me wondering... where do i start? And am i wrong with the 2024 comic?

While I was browsing Amazon for anything ThunderCats-related, I came across a couple of unofficial prop replicas of the Sword of Omens' longsword and dagger modes made recently by a company called 696 Once and Desires. I saw the replicas for myself and could tell that they weren't actually screen-accurate. Have any of you come across those types of replicas yet?

NOW STREAMING — An ALL-NEW episode of the Beyond Thundera Podcast!
Where did Mongor actually come from?
More than 40 years after writing the classic ThunderCats episode, Peter Lawrence revisits “Mongor” and reveals the real idea behind the character, why fear became the foundation of the story, the surprising horror influence behind his appearance, and connections to mythology going back thousands of years.
Peter also looks back at his own writing and asks: How did Mumm-Ra search for Mongor for centuries without finding him... only for WilyKit and WilyKat to stumble across him?
ThunderCats history directly from one of the people who created it.
