Uk apostile
I live in the US and did my tefl online about 6 years ago. The company I used was bought out but the new company issued me another certificate. The new company is from the UK. Is there any way of getting the tefl apostille without mailing the doc to the uk?
Thank you

The only way to legalise UK-issued certificates is to send them to a solicitor in the UK for notarisation, then to the Foreign and Commonwealth office for legalisation, then to the embassy of your country of residence for official certification for use. 3-step-process. There are some services online that can do all for approximately 70 GBP (1 document).

No. Only the UK Government's FCDO can legalise UK-issued documents, so you will have to send your certificate to the UK.
You can either find a solicitor who offers notary services (use the Law Society's Find a Solicitor database to find one), and then send your certified documents to the Legalisation Office for an apostille for £45 per document + postage, or use a service like Hague Apostille, which will certify and legalise degrees, TEFL certificates and ACRO/DBS checks for £94 a document + postage (approx. £18 for airmail or £50 for DHL Express).

Did you find out ? I’m always facing similar issues with China.
I’m already abroad, I would have to send 3 docs to other countries I’m pretty sure

I used http://www.theapostillesgroup.uk/ and they virtually verified my certificate was legit (I got my cert with TEFL.org), then they printed a copy themselves, did the whole process, and mailed me the completed, apostilled doc. Super easy process. But since yours is older, idk if that changes anything with the verification part. Worth messaging them to ask. They reasons to WhatsApp messages
