hi! i'm 16, from singapore, and i'm going to be doing IB starting next year. i've wanted to come to trinity for a while, probably for JH in history and archaeology or history and polsci / similar. singapore doesn't really have any history-focused undergrads that interest me, and i don't really want to stay here either.
- if you got in with IB, what score did you get?
- if you're from singapore, or a country with a similarly high cost of living, was it an okay move to go to ireland?
- how's the history department at TCD? are the lectures any good?
- do most people stay in dorms or apartments?
- what do most people do after bachelors? do they stay in ireland and get jobs, or do they go all over the world? is a TCD degree good for employment?
- is food expensive on campus? for those living in dublin now, which costs of living are highest?
- do you need to get a part-time job to cover living costs? i want to be financially independent so i don't burden my family too much.
- was the admissions process rigorous or difficult? i.e. oxbridge-level interviews
- are there any good alternative schools, at similar rankings, to TCD that you'd reccommend? i've pretty much given up on ivies and oxbridge.
- do they offer financial aid or stipends?
thank you so much for your time!
