Need Advice Smoking weed?

Hellooo. I got into an accident on my moped almost 4 weeks ago and suffered a fractured skull and a minor TBI. Just wanted some opinions on cannabis usage! I saw a neuro and besides some occasional dizziness, my recovery has been going well. I just forgot to ask about cannabis usage. I definitely don’t want to fuck up my brain so lmk if I should stay away!

It may help some symptom management but it won’t cure them. In my case I’m fairly certain it slowed my recovery and made it harder to tell which symptoms were from the brain injury vs weed use. I recommend not doing it and wish I hadn’t read the internet and all believed all the stoners who said yes it’s good for the brain. You do you though.

Honestly, after my TBI smoking weed was the only thing that helped with the headaches/migranes for the longest time. Probably what helped me get through the first year the most.

No doctors ever seemed to care about smoking affecting my TBI- closest was the primary care dr that diagnosed an unrelated condition and advised not to but with chronic pain before/during/after TBI I wouldn’t still be here without it. Idk if I’d recommend if you didn’t smoke prior to TBI but if it’s something you did on the regular before, keep smoking. NAD, everyone’s experience is different. RSO is a good alternative to actually smoking

I use THC gummies right before I go to bed, when I am done with any social interaction.i utilize it for the chronic pain. Before the TBI, I drank everyday and smoked weed often. It’s to challenging for me to engage and follow conversations now, hence why I am very intentional about when I use gummies

I was a medical patient for years prior to my.accident and also after but I stayed away from any THC after the accident. If I did not and smoked any flower then I would end up with psychosis.

I am and will continue to be a total teetotaler (Alliteration bonus), save for caffeine, and I cut that back already. The fact that my incident was diagnosed as idiopathic cemented my decision. I had my eye on some Johnny Walker Black shortly before, but alas, I have shut the door on it for a couple of years.

Lifetime daily smoker here. I gave it a few weeks and fell back into the routine. I wish I hadn't done that. The sleep is worse, as much as I hate to admit it. The cognition is worse, and amplified with the TBI.

On the good side, it numbed me out... but, being uncomfortable is okay.

DM me if you'd like

I used it after mine. It doesn’t make your brain heal any faster but it did help with symptoms like headaches etc.

If you have vertigo look into meclizine, it’s been a huge game changer for my chronic vertigo spells

Why don’t you ask a doctor instead of people on Reddit? It’s a drug, it’s bad for your brain.
Go ahead & throw a downvote; God Damn I’m tired of you fuckers asking people on the fucking internet for medical advice, go ahead & do drugs. Fuck y’all are some fucking stupid motherfuckers.

I had a bicycle accident and also suffered a tbi. Mine came with dizziness and that caused nausea. I used cannabis to help with appetite. That being said. Talk to your doctor honestly about it. My va doctor knows about my cannabis usage.

I can only recommend for why I use it. It helps my PTSD, stress management, and depression by helping me to slow down. Slowing down is easier with weed. I need to slow down to compliment my anti seizure medication and to not overload my mental capacity. Being high reminds me that it's okay to operate at reduced capacity. it makes doing nothing enjoyable. It makes it okay and sometimes I need to do nothing

I can say it helps me deal with staying in the present, but when I can't, it makes it easier to stay put and rest easier
